Hi I'm Linda

I love this stage of life and enjoy so many good things.... baking, gardening, family, friends, walking, piano and organizing.

About Me

I love to be with my family. One of the greatest blessings in my life is my family so it is top on my priority list. As my husband and I got closer to retirement I used to wondered what I would do with my life and my time. I decided that my focus is to do whatever it takes to strengthen my family. Now, all our children are married and have children of their own. I love to visit and call them, send birthday cards and a little money, email and blog with them, send them notes and cards and have a reunion every other year for all 34 of us. In the end, it won't matter how much time we spent working at the office, shopping for new clothes or being entertained. At the end of life we will value the relationship we have developed with the ones we love most...our family. It is never to late to strengthen and work on relationships, no matter what has happened in the past.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. I was involved in the programs of the church since I was a small child. Despite that, I needed to know for myself if this religion was true. The confirmation of its truthfulness has come as small drop at a time. After 60+ years, I can clearly see the blessing that have come to me as my life has unfolded because of living the principles of the gospel that this church professes. Some of these blessing are a fine loving husband, an intact family, a family free from drug, alcohol, immorality, abuse, abandonment, infidelity, contention, dishonesty, poverty....the list goes on and on. Living the gospel principles brings the consequences of those principles, which are called blessings and they are so wonderful. Many blessings take time to develop in order to bring forth the results, but they come! The world is searching for some direction, and I am so grateful there is some direction through the gospel of Jesus Christ and within this church.

How I live my faith

One of the greatest benefits of being in this church is the opportunity to serve, no matter what age you are or what your talents or limitations are. Service brings joy. I am the leader of 9 little girls, ages 8-11, whom I meet with twice a month. We have learning activities, perform service, and develop talents and skills. Last week we made mothers day coupon books as gifts for Mother Day and then made cornbread and played a game. Young girls love to learn and are curious and eager to learn so many things. It is a joy to be part of their lives even though I am not their grandmother. I also am assigned to visit 3 women in our congregation each month. At first, it might be considered an "assigned friend" but the relationship quickly becomes more than that as we share, help and learn to love each other over time. Everyone needs a friend and this program fills that need. That is how we minister to one another on a one-to-one basis throughout the whole world. I also help my husband with missionary work in our congregation (ward) and love to share the message of our religion with anyone who wants to hear about it.
