Hi I'm Danny Glover ♥

I'm into the outdoors. I'm into sports. I believe in a better world. The life I have, the faith I have, How? I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Danny! I am from and currently refer to home in beautiful Roanoke, Virginia. I was born in Miami, Florida on February 4, 1986, making me 26 years of age. I am currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Florida Orlando Mission. I am a convert to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and obtained a degree (BA) at Southern Virginia University in Physical Education and Recreation Administration. I enjoy learning, reading, history, weightlifting, contact sports and outdoor recreation. The future career, goals and aspirations include family (temple marriage), a career (TBD) and fulfilling my life purpose so I can receive all that our Father in Heaven has promised.

Why I am a Mormon

"The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it." History of the Church, 3:30. I believe the words of past, present and future prophets to be true. I know that the words that the Holy Prophets of ancient biblical times spoke must be fulfilled, and evidence of this fulfillment of prophecies in the latter-days are found only in the Book of Mormon. The opportunities and blessings that people receive from being born into a functional family I did not have the opportunity to inherit. However, the gospel of Jesus Christ has compensated for those misfortunes and made up for those losses. I am a member of the Church not because of what I have heard others say and believe it, or because I enjoy the members, I am a member because I have received a spiritual conversion, not a social conversion. I have felt feelings, promptings and thoughts in my life that I had previously never experienced. As I read and ponder the Book of Mormon, my behavior and any current concerns or worries are replaced with feelings of faith, hope and charity. This gospel has the power to take men in their current state or situation and mold them into new creatures in Christ. Gordon B. Hinckley was the president of The Church when he said: "Bring all the good that you have and let us see if we can add to it.'" "Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals." President Gordon B. Hinckley also mentioned: "Do not let the future be held hostage by the past."

How I live my faith

I am very active in my faith ♥I have had the opportunity to perform in multiple church callings and activities inside the Church. However, I know that I could not have a greater calling then what I have now, and that is as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Many are blown away that I would do this at such a late age in life, but I say why not? There are people who need this gospel, and how selfish of I would it be to deny them. My dear brothers and sister: "greater love hath no man then to lay down his life for his friends". The plea of many in this day is, that we have no right to receive revelations; but if we do not get revelations, we do not have the oracles [prophets] of God; and if they have not the oracles of God, they are not the people of God. . . . Jesus in His teachings says, 'Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.' What rock? Revelation. Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, sel. Joseph Fielding Smith (1976), 272, 274.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Danny Glover ♥
I sure do! Why? Because it makes since! And, because I have lived and followed the council of prophets past and present. As I have done this, a greater light and knowledge has filled my soul with an understanding of God's love and the purpose he has for me in life. It is as Jesus Christ taught in the New Testament "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them". By the fruits of the Prophet Joesph Smith (The Book of Mormon) we can be assured and have no fear. There is a living prophet on the face of the earth once again. Also taught in the scriptures, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever". If he ordained and called 12 men (apostles) while performing his earthly ministry and gave them the authority to act in his name, then he must do that today. Throughout time, our Heavenly Father has always called prophets. Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham,Issac,Jacob,Moses and many others were recorded as prophets in the scriptures. Throughout time, God has demonstrated his love for the people by calling a prophet to lead, guide and direct the people in the affairs of the Lord. When the people obey and listen, they are blessed, when they do not obey and are stiff necked, standoffish, or hardheaded, they fall into an eventual state of apostasy and fall away from the truth and they go through a period of spiritual darkness and distance away from God until they repent. When they repent, God calls another prophet. In the Spring of 1820, Joesph Smith was called as a prophet. Show more Show less
