Hi I'm Madi

I'm a student, I taught English in China, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission in Taiwan. Before coming out on my mission I was a college student studying Psychology and Chinese. My family have 4 people-- my mom, dad, a younger brother and myself. We live in Nebraska, which to many people seems like the middle of nowhere, but to me it's a beautiful place; a pure simple beauty. I really enjoy the simplicity of living in a more country area. I love singing, dancing, hiking, taking pictures, reading, swimming, and many other things. I absolutely love China and Taiwan-- in 2010, I taught English in Hunan, China for 5 months to about 1000 students. I loved teaching them and also getting to take the weekends to travel to nearby areas. It was a lot of fun exploring places I've never been before. I try to enjoy every moment that I have to live, laugh, and love.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I've grown up in this church- my parents are members and I was baptize wen I was 8. I've always felt that this Church was good and right, but it was awhile before I realized I needed to really know for myself whether or not this Church is true. So I prayed to and asked the only Being who could truly answer my questions. My answer wasn't miraculous or big, but a small feeling confirming that I already know and what I know is right. Being a member of this Church has truly blessed my life so much; it has helped me have standards and morals that don't change, so it's a lot easier to avoid troublesome situations that could affect my future in a negative way. I really love my family, and because of this Gospel, I know that I have the opportunity to be with them forever. This has given us a common goal and given us a way to become more united. This Gospel has truly blessed my life in more ways than I can count.

How I live my faith

At the moment, living my faith is really just serving those around me in any way I can. As a missionary, I'm constantly helping other people understand more about the teachings in our church. Before I came out on my mission, living my faith really just meant taking what I learned at church or in my own scripture studies and applying it to my life. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings true happiness- it's not just something to listen to and think it's just a good thought or idea. Really, Christ's teachings are a way of life; it's about loving and serving those around us. It's about family, it's about learning and changing into our best selves. This is how I live my faith.
