Hi I'm Allison

I like to sing, beatbox, and smile! I am serving as a Spanish speaking sister missionary in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission.

About Me

I love my family. Even though I am the youngest with four older brothers, we get along really well. I love it when we are all together. I like to think that we are a lot of fun! When we are all together, there is no doubt that we are jamming out to music because we are a very musical family. I absolutely adore music; especially beatboxing and singing acapella. I have performed in acapella groups and now I love to just pick music apart and hear all the different parts involved in a song. Music is beautiful and when done in an uplifting manner, it can invite the spirit into any situation. I have experienced that on my mission. I have been able to experience a new culture and sing in a different language. I love the Spanish language. It is so beautiful. There is something amazing about being able to communicate with others in another language. It is a witness to me that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and He wants us to love each other. As I come to understand different cultures, my love for others grows even more. I have found a desire to travel the world and experience different cultures and learn more languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the true church. I love everything about it. It lightens my mood and puts me in great spirits. I have prayed for myself to find out if it was true and I got an answer that it was. Prayer is so important to me. I notice that when I forget to pray, I am not the best that I can be. I know that Heavenly Father is real. I love having Him there to pray to. My prayers are so much more meaningful because I know He is there. I know that He is my father and that I am His divine daughter. My brother and Savior, Jesus Christ, means the world to me. The fact that He died for my sins and transgressions makes me weep. The pain that He went through is something that I will never be able to comprehend. I love Him so much for what He did and went through. I know that through Him, I am able to repent of my sins and be washed clean. I can live with my family forever. It is the greatest thing to know that I am able to be with them forever. I can't imagine going through my life without them. I sometimes wonder what my life would be like without the Gospel, and I come to a blank. I know that I would be completely lost. I absolutely cannot see myself without it. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through example and testimony. It means so much more to show that you truly live the Gospel than to simply say that you do. Others notice when you really do what you say you do. I believe that it is important that we strive to be like our Savior. He led by example. As we develop and work on becoming more like Him, our faith will shine for all to see. Our foundation truly will be in Christ the Lord. With a sure foundation in Him, we cannot fall.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Allison
The first thing I would do to know if Mormonism is true is to pray. Pray to your Heavenly Father and ask Him with real intent to know if it is true. Then study the scriptures, attend Church meetings, and listen for the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will whisper the truth of it to you. His whispers are the good feelings you get that make you feel warm inside. When you feel that spirit, that is how you can know that it is true. I can promise that when you do all of those things, you will know and understand for yourself. I know because it is the same process I went through to know if it was true. Show more Show less
