Hi I'm Allyson Harris Hayward

Mom. Wife. Return Missionary. Photographer. Soccer Player. Utah Jazz Fan. Mormon.

About Me

I was married to my husband, and best friend, in the Salt Lake Temple on June 26, 2013 and I've never been happier! I graduated from Weber State with a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Therapy. We have a little girl who joined our family in July of 2015 and she is our everything! Being a Mom is the greatest calling ever. I returned home from my mission after 11 months in October 2012 because I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. It is something I struggle with daily but has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and helped me become the person He wants me to be. I strive to make the most of my illness and help others who struggle as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Better question, why wouldn't I be a Mormon? I know without a doubt that being LDS has helped me in ways other religions can't. The knowledge I have because of my faith is astounding. I know that I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me more than I can comprehend. I have received that confirmation time and time again. I know my Savior loves me and died for me so that I can live with Him, my family, and my Heavenly Father again. I know He knows exactly what I go through each and every day. That He suffered for me and that while He went through what He did, He was thinking of me. There is nothing I cannot give up because of what He did for me. I am grateful for the Book of Mormon. I know it is the word of God and was written by prophets. It was written for our day. I know it applies to my life and that I have gotten closer to my Savior by reading its pages. I love the Book of Mormon and know it's true because I've prayed and received an answer more than once. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and that there is a modern prophet on the earth today. I am grateful for prayer, for the knowledge I have of kneeling and talking to my Heavenly Father. I know He hears and answers prayers. I would be lost without the communication I have with Him. I am grateful for this Gospel in my life for so many reasons. I shudder to think where I'd be without it. I will stand for it for the rest of my life because I cannot deny its teachings! The Gospel is my light in the darkness. I know that I would not be able to handle or face my trials in the way that I have if it weren't for the Gospel. It's never easy to deal with them but it's bearable because of the knowledge and peace the Gospel gives me. I am grateful I don't have to wonder what my life would be like without it. I know Heavenly Father has given me the trials He has to shape me into a better person, and why wouldn't I want to be the person He sees me as?

How I live my faith

I served an LDS Mission in the Texas McAllen Mission, la mejor mision en el mundo! I taught people about the Gospel and invited them to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ. Since I've been home I've realized the badge doesn't make the missionary and I try to be an example of the believers, as talked about in Timothy. I try to be an example everywhere I go and in everything I do. You never know who is watching you and what effect you can have on them. Living your faith means taking action of some kind, and the things I do to show it on a daily basis are living the commandments God has given us for our benefit. The only way to become more Christ-like is living the way He lived. I live my faith as a representative of Jesus Christ.
