Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm a volleyball player, a coach, a daughter, a sister, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg ID. I am an Exercise Physiology major with a Physical Therapy Assisting minor. I put my education on hold for 18 months to serve a mission for the church. I am serving in the Iowa Des Moines Mission. I LOVE playing volleyball! I've played for over 10 years and coached for 2. I love everything about the sport and the lessons I've learned from playing. I'm the oldest of 3 kids. My parents divorced when I was 15, while this experience was the hardest thing I've been asked to go through, I'm so grateful for the lessons I have learned having gone through this trial and for the stronger relationships I have with my family members.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it is true. I was raised in the Mormon faith and for most of my childhood I went to church because that's what we did in our family. When my parents divorced when I was 15, I knew at that time that I had to find out for myself if this church was true, if the Book of Mormon was true, and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. During the time of my parents divorce I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and then prayed to know if it was true as we are invited to do in Moroni 10. The answer came quietly and simply but it came! The feeling that I felt that night as I knelt down to pray was undeniable. A warm feeling came into heart and an overwhelming feeling of peace came into my life. I knew with out a doubt at that time that this church is true. I stay in the church because of direction it gives to my life and the support I feel from fellow members of the church and also the love and support I feel from God through his Holy Scriptures and the words of the living prophet and other leaders of the church.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my life each day in a way that would be pleasing to God. This includes finding people to help. Whether thats through a smile and a wave or participating in a larger service project. I attend church meetings every week on Sundays. I pray and read scripture daily. Through these things I feel that my Heavenly Father is pleased with me and I feel His guidance in my life. Currently I'm serving a voluntary mission for the LDS church. I am serving in Iowa for 18 months. When my time here ends I will return to BYU-Idaho to finish my education. I hope to marry a fellow member of the church in one of our Holy Temples where we believe we will be sealed for time and all eternity. I will do everything in my power to raise my family with the standards found in the Mormon church because I believe that it will bring us the most happiness possible.
