Hi I'm Eden

I'm an educator, artist, optimist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family. Because of that, I love being around noise and busyness. When I do slow down, you can find me browsing a book store, listening to the lyrics of a song, or painting. I love learning. Every aspect of how knowledge is acquired is so interesting to me. I revel in the idea that learning promotes progress. For that reason, I decided to become a professional educator of children. It also gives me the excuse to not act my age!

Why I am a Mormon

Optimism is my favorite word. I believe that we are meant to be happy. Knowing that this is God's purpose for us has shaped how I live my life as a whole. It has helped me to find a reason to be happy every day. It helps me to find the bright side of every negative situation I face. It helps me to have hope in the future. Happiness can abound in our families. I treasure the knowledge that I am part of an even bigger family than my earthly one. God IS my Father. We are all brothers and sisters. That knowledge allows me to look outside myself. I want everyone to know their worth! We all have so much potential! I believe that if everyone truly knew who they were, the world would be a much happier place to live. The Atonement (Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection) is the key that unlocks the door to happiness. I can overcome past mistakes, have the power to do what is right, receive answers from God, and obtain comfort. It's power to bring us happiness is unlimited! Tapping into that marvelous gift has happened for me through study and prayer. The scriptures have become my textbook on life. I know that I will find truth every time I start reading them. The Book of Mormon has a power that is life-changing. I know it is another testament of our Savior. The ONLY way I know this for sure is because I prayed and God gave me an answer. I know it is true and that has created a domino effect. If The Book of Mormon is true, there MUST be prophets on the earth today and what they teach MUST be true. I still have much to learn and ask new questions every day, but I know that the knowledge I have obtained brings me eternal happiness.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from missionary service in Wyoming, North Dakota, and Minnesota. It opened my eyes to how much each member of Jesus Christ's Church really is needed. I've taken that knowledge and turned it into becoming a more active participant in my community and congregation. I participate in service projects around my community and visit a few of the women in our congregation at least once every month. I also strive to share what I believe with everyone that I meet.
