Hi I'm Brennen

I love spontaneity, doing things outdoors, reading the scriptures, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up living all over the United States but grew up mostly in Utah. Graduated from the best high school there, Davis High in Kaysville, and then went on to graduate from a Fire Academy as an EMT-I and Firefighter. I am currently serving a full time, 2 year mission for the Church in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. I have loved every moment of it. It has changed my life in so many ways.

Why I am a Mormon

Me being a member started with my parents. I grew up in the church and I was taught good principles and faith in Jesus Christ, which helped me stay out of trouble growing up through high school. Even when there was a time that I really wanted nothing to do with the church or like anything faith related. My conversion really took place when I started my mission. I always wanted to serve a mission, really because I thought it would be awesome to go to another country and eat crazy stuff while speaking a sweet language that I could show off to friends when I got home. But I got called to Maryland. With my call came a lot of disappointment. I still prayed often and wanted to know what was up with this, cause it really wasn't what I wanted. But God has a plan for all of us. Back track about 19 years prior and I'm actually adopted by my dad who raised me and had a biological dad somewhere out there that I didn't know. Never talked to him, or anything. Well Turns out he lives in Maryland. I went into the Missionary Training Center May 26 2010, in Provo Utah. My mom found my biological dad on Face book a few weeks prior and made contact with him just to let him know I was coming out. 3 Weeks later I get off the plane to arrive in the mission field and the first person I met was this big ol' Samoan Elder, who said basically, "Oh hey, we're teaching you're dad and he wants to meet you!" I was like "What?" My first area to start my mission was like 10 minutes from my dad's house. Since then I have able to share this message with him and 2 brothers I never knew I had. In my mind there is no doubt there is a loving Heavenly Father who has a plan for all of us in life and he wants us to be happy. I have many evidences in my life like the experiences I have had on my mission which only grow my testimony that he is there, and I'm exactly where he wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by continuing to make myself better and learn in the gospel everyday. Before I served a mission, I really had no understanding about how Jesus Christ had an impact on my life and how the gospel can help me. Now as I do things like pray, attend church and diligently study the scriptures, I can feel peace and direction that comes from a loving God and his Son who knows us all so well. I try to live my life as the Savior would. Serving others has become one of my new favorite hobbies. I love sharing the restored gospel and the unique message that it is to the world. God speaks to us today, through new and old scripture, and through a modern prophet who holds the priesthood and authority of God. That is something I came to know to be true as I lived the gospel and did the things the Savior taught. Plus I prayed about it, and felt the Holy Ghost. Try it. It works. Thus I try to live my life in accordance with God's commandments, and I've never been happier.
