Hi I'm Rachel

I'm an athlete. I'm a musician. I'm a daughter. I'm a little sister. I'm an aunt. I'm a teacher. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, I'm going to school to become a PE teacher. That's my dream job! I love kids, I love sports, and I love health. Some sports I have gotten into recently have been endurance sports. I was on the rowing team for a while in college and it taught me so much about life. About setting goals, working as a team, and doing things that you never thought you could ever do. I love sports and they teach us so much. I want to help my future students learn these things, too. Besides PE I have a minor in music. I play the Saxophone. I was a drum major (student band director) in high school and in college and that was so much fun! Music has always been a big part of my life. I'm always tapping my feet or humming some song. Music is AWESOME!

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church. I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I'm grateful for the teachings of the gospel and the influence of my parents in my life. They have been such great examples to me and the things they taught me have helped me grow closer to God and become a better person. So that's my background but the question is, why after all these years have I decided to keep going to church? Well, when I was in college, I went through a phase of self discovery. I had a really low self esteem and my faith was very weak. I started taking a class at church about temples and the Plan of Salvation. This plan is God's plan for us. It tells us where we came from, why we are here on earth, and where we are going after this life. This plan is something I had been taught since I was little but, something different clicked this time though. I knew that I was a daughter of our Heavenly Father. I discovered this life is only scratching the surface of the joy that awaits us after. I also realized that if we have forever after this life, our problems and trials in this life are but a moment. Yes, they are hard and sometimes we may feel that we can't go on anymore. That's why Heavenly Father gave us His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for everyone. And that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well, right now I'm in Taiwan doing the Lord's work. I'm a missionary. I decided to go on a mission because of the Plan of Salvation and how it has changed my life. I wanted to share this happiness with everyone and tell them of the blessings they our Heavenly Father wants to give us. I have really learned how to love others as the Lord loves them and I'm grateful for this opportunity to be in the service of others.
