Hi I'm Celestine

I grew up in California and Hong Kong. I love good food, great music, and any form of service. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 23 years old, grew up in California and Hong Kong. I love indie music and dance. And sports: volleyball, tennis, basketball, running, the works. I might be mildly addicted to photography - life is meant to be captured! I love good food; some call me a foodie. My family are my best friends, and my friends are like family. I read my pathophysiology textbook for fun - I plan to be a lifelong learner and I'm passionate about medicine. The Californian in me can't stay away from the beach. And let's just say, anything involving service is totally up my alley.

Why I am a Mormon

You could say it was my parents who first introduced me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because like many others, I was raised in a LDS family. I felt the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ from a young age. At the age of 15, however, I had several pivotal experiences that caused me to really consider whether or not I wanted to continue being a member of this Church. I knew that the doctrines of restored gospel were absolutely true. I could not deny that. But I asked myself, "Do I really want to be a Mormon? Is this really what I want?" I did some careful pondering and reflecting and took the matter to God through prayer. Through many sweet, spiritual experiences, I was guided to make some decisions that have truly changed the course of my life. My parents introduced me to the Church but their faith is not the reason why I'm a Mormon. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know, without a doubt, that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He lives! I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father. He lives, God is real! I know that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I know that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and His son Jesus Christ, and that he was called as a prophet of God in latter-days. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet of God - called of God to guide and direct every person in this day to receive all of the blessings our Father in Heaven so wants them to be able to receive. I know the Bible is the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly. And I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I feel of its truthfulness daily and I have no doubt that Heavenly Father hears and answers all of my prayers. Simply put, I am a Mormon because the restored gospel is true and I love it!!

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, in fact I'm very far from it. But my faith in God and Jesus Christ compels me to do what I can and to continue to seek areas for improvement and contribution. Those who are close to me know that I love service in essentially any shape or form. I love to continually feel and witness how it touches and blesses the lives of all those involved. In the community I enjoy spending much of my time volunteering in local hospitals and being engaged in other activities that help others develop their abilities and personal knowledge. I have also loved coaching and directing the incredible athletes and their families involved in special olympics programs. Within the Church, I have also enjoyed serving in various teaching and leadership positions. I have been blessed with opportunities to teach gospel doctrine from the scriptures and words of living prophets. I have had opportunities to work with and assist in the missionary programs of the Church. I have particularly cherished the opportunities I've had to serve in the temples that the Church has worldwide. In fact, I am currently serving as a full-time missionary in the Taichung and Gaoxiong areas of Taiwan.
