Hi I'm Paul Bird

I'm from Tucson Arizona and I play violin.

About Me

I'm 21 years old. I'm number 5 of 6 kids. I love my family. I love playing the violin I've studied violin performance. I love being in orchestras, I've been in a few operas and I've been on the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra. I also like foreign films, going to concerts, practicing violin, going downtown, modern art galleries, running errands, dating, studying world religions, having fun, social commentary, watching ballet and performance art, music theory classical music history, chatting, shopping, cultural events, and listening to music. My favorite musicians include Bright Eyes, The Beautiful South, and Bjork. My Favorite composers include Debussy, Vaughan Williams, Beethoven, Bartok, Bach, and many others. My favorite book is Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger and my favorite movie director is Ingmar Bergman. My favorite Opera is Salome. I really like the word "favorite" haha. I also like muffins. I love having friends and having adventures with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church and I always loved it, but my favorite thing about the church is the forgiveness and the happiness I feel. It really is a optimistic and happy religion, yes its a lot of work to stay faithful but I just love being happy. The church encourages learning and questioning, and that's what I love to do- I love to question what I believe and grow as a person in knowledge and culture.

How I live my faith

I love to be happy! And my faith makes me happy! I love being a missionary and I love to help with humanitarian aid. I do believe that I was blessed with an ability to learn and play the violin. I love to read the Bible and go to church. Mostly though, I like to spread happiness. Of course I'm not perfect, I do get into some bad moods but God blesses me so much that I can't stay sad. Of course I have to live in reality so I don't just ignore my pains, but I never let pains get me down more than they should.
