Hi I'm Rachel

I grew-up in Germany to American Parents. I love working with children with autism. I 'm serving a mission. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I finished college at Brigham Young University and recieved a Bachelor's degree in Special Education. I was previously working as a teacher for children with autism. I love traveling around the world and helping where ever I can with non-profit groups. I have travel to El Salvador, Uganada to work in orphanages. I have traveled to other various parts of Europe. I love running, yoga, rock climbing and just being in the outdoors. The most important thing to me are the relationships that we can have with other people. I find people to be fascintating. I love art. I once spent 3 hours in the Modern Tat musuem in London and I only saw one floor. I just love life and am learning each day how to live it.:)

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 11 a friend of mine invited me to a church activity. I am not really sure what we did at the activity but I remember her showing me the baptismal font where one gets baptized. I remember "asking her so can just anyone get baptized." I was fascinated by baptism and felt this need to be baptized again. I went home that night and asked my parents if I could get baptized. They responded to me that I was 11 and needed to wait until I was older. As time went by I continued to attend church activities with my friends while continuing to attend the church my parents attended. When I was 19 one of my best friends gave me a Book of Mormon to read. My friend had highlighted verses for me to read and gave me a letter bearing her testimony. I keep the Book of Mormon but did not read it right away. After attending a small all girls College for my first 2 years I desired a change. I thought I want a large University that was not a big party school. My mind thought of Brigham Young University and I was set to go. As I thought of all my friends that had attended that school. While in the process of applying I began to read the Book of Mormon. As I began to read I knew the words were those of God. I knew that I needed to get baptized. I knew that God loved me. That this is His true church on the Earth and that He a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I love working with the women of the church. I love visiting other women in my ward. One of my favorite things to do is visit teach. Visiting teaching is where each women of the ward has two other women to teach and in that way each person is served. Some of my best friends have come through visiting or having others visit me. There is a love that comes as we learn to serve others.
