Hi I'm Elise

I'm adventurous. I'm a dancer. I'm spontaneous. I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a disfunctional family. I am a college student studying dance. Dance is my passion. I love being out doors. In fact if there is nothing on the menu, i'll take my blank menu and chill with it outside. :) I'm all about random adventures. :) I'm EXTREMELY spontaneous. Like....REALLY spontaneous. I HATE plans. I make them up as I go. I really appreciate the little things in life such as: sunsets, fireworks, swings, and bubbles. I also have a passion for humanitarian work. I traveled to Belize with a humanitarian group, and helped build a library for an elementary school, and hosted a summer reading program for the kids. This experience changed my life, and has lead me to make other huge life changing decisions that have brought me closer to my savior Jesus Christ. Although I grew up in a disfunctional family, I have found eternal joy, and peace in my life. I am the happiest I have ever been in my whole life right now, and I know it's because I am living the commandments of God. There is not a single thing that this world has to offer that I would trade for the peace and happiness that I have now, and my family. I can say with confidence that I have found myself, and my personal value to God, and my specific purpose in this life. I love myself, I love life, I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I Grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I was 14 years old, I read the book of mormon, and I prayed to know if it was true. I received an undeniable witness from God that the book of mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. As life went on, specific events in my family and social life lead me to make decisions that were against the teachings of Jesus Christ. I was angry, I was confused, and I gave up. I felt like there was no reason to care about anything anymore. I started to get involved with people who had the same experiences as me, who were resorting to the same temporary reliefs as I wanted at the time. Instead of giving me something to fall back on, these desicions i was making, and the life i was living was dragging me down. I felt a weight on my soul. When the time was right, God decided to put specific positive influences in my life. He knew I was ready, and He knew how I would react. I started to hang out with some people who were following the commandments of God. Some of which were members of the church. I found that I was enjoying myself more. One day I up and quit everything that I was doing that were against the commandments, and turned my life around. All in one day. I confessed my sins to the Lord that night, and I experienced the atonement more intensely than I had in all of my life. I felt the savior's suffering for me, and his love for me. From that day on I have not looked back, or slipped up, or had any desire to turn around what-so-ever. I have more peace and happiness now from living the commandments of God, than I have received from anyone or anything else. I am a mormon because this gospel makes me happy and free, and I know it's the kind of happiness that lasts forever.

The mormon life style is clean, free, easy, happy, family-oriented, selfless, and peaceful. We have good morals/standards. What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

To me the atonement of Jesus Christ means that he provided the way for me to be able to return to live with him and my Father in Heaven. Cause God know's that I would not have been able to do that by myself. The Atonement is the greatest gift that God has given me. Without it I would be lost. It was necessary for there to be an atonement or else NONE of us would be able to return to live with Him. (2nephi 2:6-8) Show more Show less
