Hi I'm Carl

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Provo, Utah and served a mission in Quebec, Canada.

About Me

Father of eight wonderful children. I am blessed beyond words to be their father. I'm a software developer, love music, genealogy, health, fitness, the teaching of Christ, and blessing the lives of others. I am single, and although by this I've been through the most heart-wrenching experiences of my life, I have even so been blessed deeply in the things that matter most. I seek for opportunities to bless the lives of others through my experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I caught the vision of why I am here on this earth. I know God has an eternal plan for me. Yes, me. We lived before coming to this earth as our Father's children, and after this life we continue our growth and life with our Father again. I know that Christ died for me. His Atonement is His greatest gift. I have been born again ... and again and again and again. I seek His Spirit daily, and revelation from my Father has guided my footsteps innumerable times. I seek every opportunity to witness Christ's name and words to my children and all those I meet and teach.

How I live my faith

I've served in the Church in many ways, first as a missionary in Quebec, then ward clerk, elders quorum president, bishopric counselor, high councilman, bishop, gospel doctrine teacher, primary chorister, ward missionary, young men's counselor and president, ward missionary, High Priest quorum instructor, temple worker, and ward executive secretary. I don't care where I serve, but find as I serve I weather better life's storms.

What is being a Mormon like?

Carl
I can't fully put into words what it's like being a Latter-day Saint. I can understand why those outside our religion may think us a little odd, but once you get to know us there's nothing more natural than being a Mormon. I know in the depths of my soul that God lives, that He is my Father, and that He speaks to prophets in our day just as he did in Old Testament times, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been given the power and authority, through prophets and apostles, to act in His name in these latter days, just as prophesied in holy scripture.
