Hi I'm Jeanean Nolan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mother and have one son, who is 16. I first walked into the church building (called a ward) when I was 10 years old and was baptized at 11. The 1st time I entered the chapel (part of building where we have sacrament) I felt like someone was hugging me with a warm blanket. That was my 1st experience feeling the Holy Ghost. It took me over 10 years to be fully converted (slow learner ...lol) . Converted means to embrace the gospel to the best of our ability. For example, going to church every Sunday, praying daily, reading the scriptures, etc. I have experienced LIFE immersed in the church and life being a member but not active (we call that inactive). I belong to the true church of Jesus Christ. I know it is true. I bear witness that this is the true church of Jesus Christ, hence our name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have received so many blessings, inspiration, and personal revelation as I strive to be obedient, and keep all of God's commandments. One thing you should know about us if even though we believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and we members are not perfect. Hence you will meet members who are not doing as they know they should. We all struggle in one area or another. But the ones who are trying their best to be as obedient as possible are the happiest. Doesn't mean we do not have our own trials and tribulations but we feel supported. We feel the love of God the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I cannot deny that I belong to the true Chruch of Jesus Christ. I am mormon because this religion is not just going to church every Sunday it is a way of life and I love this way of living. I am Mormon because I do not think I could survive as a single mother without the blessings I receive from Heavenly Father for all the commandments I keep and for doing my best to gain christlike attributes. I am a Mormon because I have the priveledge to raise my son in truth and righteousness. I am a Mormon so that I can benefit from the blessing of the priesthood. I am a Mormon because I was blessed and I was given the oportunity to know about this religion which has in turn changed my life for the better forever. I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost confirmed within me that I am doing the will of the my savior and my loving Heavely Father. I am a Mormon because I happier with the gospel in my life then living without it. I am a Mormon because I want the blessings that I receive for living it. I am a Mormon because I enjoy the gift of the Holy Ghost and I love feeling that spirit in my life! I am a Mormon so that my son's children may be blessed.

How I live my faith

I pray day and night on my knees. For myself 1st then for others. I am not that good at remembering to pray before meals but I do at least 50% of the time. I also have a goal to read the Book of Mormon daily. Not 100% successful but I try. I have many times tried and sometimes succeeded to read the other scriptures we have available as members of the church. I used go to church every Sunday even if I am away from home I try to go to the closest chapel to where I am at. However, I have a new job and miss church at least once a month which is very hard for me and I am trying to adjust to this change. I am not that good as Family Home Evening(FHE), it is like a family night but I always am striving to try try again. I do go to a FHE group as much as possible and that has helped a lot. We are call Empty Nesters FHE or ENFHE. In the church, I have 2 assignments or what we call "a calling". The first one I teach the 5-6 year old in a group of 3-11 year old called primary. Primary is divided into Junior and Senior and my kids are in the Junior primary side. My 2nd calling is I am the ward single adult rep. We call visitors investigators. We welcome all to come unto Christ who is willing to repent(to change) and Follow Jesus Christ's example. Once baptized the work doesn't end. We are to keep his commandments, serve others, and endure to the end.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Jeanean Nolan
We believe that all men and women are equal and we are all brothers/sisters. Therefore, baptism is the key to open the gate towards heaven. We will give the key to everyone and that person chooses whether or not they want to enter the gate. Without the key, baptism, they cannot enter. Because we are all equal all should have to oportunity to enter but all are given free agency to choose to enter. If they choose yes, great. If they choose no, then that is their choice but at least they were given the oportunity to choose by opening the gate with the key. Show more Show less
