Hi I'm Matt Spackman

I'm a dad and a market researcher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dad, a Lord of the Rings geek, a market researcher, a black belt in Shotokai karate, a BYU fan, and a former professor at BYU. I live in a small town in Iowa, enjoy working in my yard and playing with my kids. My wife and I like to watch movies and spend time with our families.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church, but I'm a member of the Church because I know it is true. Growing up in the Church helped me to learn the doctrines, but I had to develop my own belief in it. This meant that I had to study and pray myself to know that the Church is true.

How I live my faith

In the LDS Church, we have many opportunities to live our faith. As a member of the Church, I've served in many different roles. I've taught children and youth and have held leadership roles in our congregations. For example, this past weekend, I helped to plan a multi-denominational service project for Meals from the Heartland. This is a non-profit organization that packs meals for people who do not have food of their own. I helped coordinate donations and volunteers from our congregation to participate with members of other churches in our community.
