Hi I'm Sam Brieden

I'm an adventurer who likes to hike to new places, longboard down mountains, and climb wherever it will take me

About Me

I'm a student majoring in biochemistry. I just finished serving as a missionary in Russia, and now I am living at home as I wait for fall term to start. My family and I are really close, but that doesn't stop me from hanging out with my friends. The family consists of my two parents, my older brother and his wife, my older sister, my younger brother, and myself. I really enjoy long boarding, wake boarding, paddle boarding, snowboarding, kayaking, learning languages, and taking on challenges. The Church has really helped me strengthen my relationship with my Savior Jesus Christ, balance my priorities in life, and do what Jesus would do, in any circumstance. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because a million reasons. First, let me clarify what kind of a "Mormon" I am. I am proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I believe in all the truths of the gospel, and I believe that all truths are supported within the gospel; Including truths of science, math, philosophy, etc... I am a Mormon because I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he atoned for our sins. When Jesus gave the sermon on the mount (Mat. 7: 15-20), he stated that "Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit." The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not bring forth evil fruit, but does bring forth good fruit. Therefore, The Church of Jesus Christ is the true Church of Christ, the very one established back when he came upon this earth and taught. Through the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I have been blessed with great joy and love from all of those around me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing what I can to receive eternal happiness. I do so by serving in the Church, doing what I can to help those around me, and showing my love for everyone as much as possible. It is very hard at times, but perseverance pays off. There are times when I stumble, however, I do not let that get me down... I just hop back on track. I will help in the organization of events and activities, such as volunteering where it is needed. I often go out in search of volunteer work when I have free time. Helping others is what brings joy into my life, so I search it out no matter where it is, I will find it.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sam Brieden
We do believe that the Holy Bible is holy scripture, in fact we use it often in our daily scripture readings. There are important teachings in the Holy Bible that help address how we should go about our lives and treat others. The Holy Bible is very sacred for it gives us truths about Jesus Christ, what he has done for us, and the history of our world. Show more Show less
