Hi I'm Ernest Chan

I grew up in Hong Kong. My family moved to United States when I was in high school. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Hong Kong and move to the United States when I was a teenager with my family. I joined the church after I graduated from college and met my wife at church. I am happily married. I am now raising 3 beautiful children. Their ages are 11, 7 and 3. I like to take pictures and play guitar as hobbies. I am a chemical engineer at work.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school, most of my best friends were Mormon. I learned a lot about the church when I interact with their families. When I graduated from college, my friends went on missions. A year or so after I started working, I was invited to one of my friends homecoming from his mission. As he spoke at church that day, I felt so good about what he had done and his family invited me to learn about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I accepted and was baptized in 1992. I have since learned so much more about this wonderful church and the restored gospel. I have learned that families can be together forever and we have a living prophet today.

How I live my faith

I was given a lot of opportunities to serve in the last 20 years as a Mormon. I am now serving as a counselor in the bishopric of a congregation of about 500 people. I am also serving as a youth Leader at church and involve in scouting. I have also serve briefly as a worker in our Temple.
