Hi I'm Trudi

I am a 42 year old mother of six. I have been happily married for 22 years. I have recently returned to school and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a wife and a mother, and have found that at home is where I find my greatest joys. I have spent much of my time supporting my children in their schooling and extracurricular activities. We love to spend time together. As my children grow I love watching them develop their talents and following their diverse interests. I have recently returned to college to finish my degree. I have earned my practical nursing license and am continuing on to become a registered nurse. I enjoy running with my husband and we have completed several marathons together. Mostly we enjoy getting out before the day starts to spend some time together. I have many hobbies and interests. I love teaching and sharing with others things that I have learned. I grew up watching my father fix everything. He would always find a way to make it work again no matter what it was. That example planted in me an interest in developing those talents myself. I can change the oil in my car, finish dry wall, and paint. I helped lay the flooring in our last home while I was nine months pregnant. I have taught myself to cut hair, and though I love going to the salon as much as the next girl, I color my own gray when it makes more sense in the family economics. I play volleyball in a city league and have been involved with the election process at the polls. I love to camp and fish. Mostly I love to do anything that brings my family together in the same place with the same purpose.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints answers the most important questions in my life. I have come to know through study and prayer that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God. Through His great life and sacrifice, I and everyone that has lived can be forgiven of sin, succored in sorrow, strengthened in weakness, and made whole through His grace. Every one of us is a child of God, and as such we have the potential to become like Him, as we choose His ways and seek to follow His path. This life gives us the opportunity to experience trials and challenges, joys and sorrow and to be tested to see if we will choose good over evil. Jesus Christ is a perfect being who condescended to come to this earth to show us the way to live. His is the way to live after the manner of true happiness. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have come to know how God feels about women. I am grateful to know that God has planted in the hearts of women attributes that lead women to have charity and love. We are the mothers of future generations and as such we have a tremendous influence for good in the world. Women have many capacities and find expression for our talents and abilities in every walk of life. In the gospel of Jesus Christ is found the power given to men to act in God’s name to bind families both for this life and for the eternities. This power is given to righteous men who bear the Priesthood of God. Being children of God our hope is to live with Him again after this life is over in a state of happiness, together with our loved ones. I know that we will be reunited with loved ones that have gone on before, and the message of the gospel is that all these blessing are available to all God’s children through the life of His Son Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon provides an additional witness of the life and mission of the Lord Jesus Christ. Of this I am sure.

How I live my faith

I love the scriptures and I especially love the teachings of the Apostle Paul. I find in his life a great reminder that we can all change, that God has something better in mind for us, and will help us become something much greater than we have envisioned for ourselves. Every day is a new opportunity to try again to be better than the previous day. A little kinder, more forgiving, more compassionate, more understanding, more wise. Prayer is an important part of my life and I find that when I spend time reading in the scriptures I am provided insights and directions for the questions in my life. I try to serve my family and those around me. I try to remember that we are all in need of an encouraging voice. I try to live in such a way that my children will know what it is that I value. I take opportunities to teach in hands on ways and to share with them my feelings of the purpose of this life and the potential in each of us. I am thankful for good people in my life whose interests and talents are varied and immense. I try to appreciate each for their unique contributions to my life. Not every day is bliss but every day is a gift and I am thankful for my life and the blessings I have been given. I believe that all good things come from God and that when I look I can find Him everywhere. I am grateful for the knowledge I have of the eternal nature of the family unit.
