Hi I'm Thayne E Johnson

I'm a Mormon. Currently serving a full-time mission in the Tennesse Nashville Mission and loving it!

About Me

I am 19 years old, I have been called to serve a mission in the Tennesse Nashville Mission. I am in the Utah National Guard as a Helicopter Mechanic. After High School I went to Basic Training at Fort Benning, Georgia upon completion I went to Fort Eustic, Virginia for Advanced Training. I love being apart of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, it is such a blessing to know that families can be together forever. Although life at times may seem difficult there is a scripture that has always kept me going, " ... I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." ~Doctrine and Covanants 84:88~ Through all the tough time is life, you are never alone. By living the Gospel of Jesus Christ I have never felt so included. I know I am loved by my Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon not only because I was born into this church, but because I find peace in following the teachings of the church. There is a special feeling that can be felt when you do what is right in following Gods plan for you. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the lords kingdom once again established on the earth today. In order to recieve a testimony of your own you NEED to read the Book of Mormon, it is the only sure way to know that not only is the Book of Mormon true, but that Joseph Smith was a Prophet callled by God to restore His church back on to the earth, and that Jesus Christ is our savior and that through him we can live with our families for eturnity in the preasence of our heavenly father! I know that this is a sure way to find peace, love and joy in your life.

How I live my faith

I participate in church callings, as earlier stated I am currently serving a mission for the church. This in turns means that i give and dedicate my life to serving the Lord and help bring others unto christ there is no better way I can live my Faith at this time then serving in the lords Army. While I was in Basic Training and in other aspects of my life being able to live what you know was a big part. Attending church each Sunday, not only to get some peace from the Drill Sergeants but because I know it is the right thing to be doing. Its not mearly about sharing what you belive to live your faith, it is about living your faith and doing something about it. I am not a rock in the river being worn down by the erosion of the running water I strive to be the river carving out new paths in the course of my life whiling living the teachings of our living prophet.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Thayne E Johnson
I believe that my purpose in this life is to be happy! If I am not happy I must be doing something wrong. We all will have to go through tough times, I have come to the realization that "Trials are a Blessing of Love" If we are going through a trial it is because God loves us. He is stretching us to our limits to help us grow and become more like him. We are trying to become someone, meaning we are to become like our savior Jesus Christ. He said in Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." He is giving us a challenge to become like our Father in Heaven. He was the perfect example of this, by the way He lived His life, the way He submitted to the Will of the Father, and gave His life for all man. Through Christ's life, death, and resurrection we are now given a way to model our lives after. It is not going to be easy but it will be possible. I Know that we each have our own individual purpose here on earth, and God has provided a way for each of us to be happy. By reading the Book of Mormon you can find your purpose and peace in this life, as stated in the Introduction of the Book of Mormon "...It puts forth the doctrines of the gospel, outlines the plan of salvation, and tells men what they must do to gain peace in this life and eternal salvation in the life to come." What better blessing to receive than one of peace in this life. Show more Show less
