Hi I'm James

I am a regular guy married with 4 kids, I am a personal trainer/fitness therapist. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am married and have 4 children. I really enjoy playing and watching sports. I work hard so I can play harder with my wife and kids. My top 3 activities are riding dirtbikes, playing football, and competitive volleyball. I make my living as a personal trainer and neuromuscular therapist so I am fortunate to be compensated for being active and helping others be active.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were baptized 1 year before I was born so I was brought up LDS. My parents and teachers taught me the Gospel of Jesus Christ using the Book Of Mormon, Bible and teachings of modern day prophets. They also taught me the concept of free agency and that asking my Heavenly Father was the best way to recieve an answer when I felt I needed to know something really important. I always believed what they taught me and it made sense but I did not KNOW without a doubt, if the things I was taught were true. I wanted to serve a full time LDS mission where I could share my beliefs with others and serve in any capacity. To do that I wantd to be able to look someone in the eye and tell them that I knew that the things I was telling were true. During my 2 month stay at the Missionary Training Center in Provo Utah, I put a written promise found in the Book Of Mormon to the test. Is says if you really want to know and you have faith in Christ, that you can ask Heavenly Father and he promises that he will let you know the truth of all things by the power of the Holy Spirit. The confirmation that I recieved and felt was so undeniable but at the same time impossible to describe that I will never forget it. I know that our Heavenly Father is real and loves us. Jesus Christ came to the earth and atoned for our sins, died for us, and ressurected so that we can return to live with him and the Father. I know that Joseph Smith recieved a visitation from the Father and the Son that initiated the restoration of the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ back to earth. I know that Joseph Smith recieved Plates from a heavenly messenger and then translated them with help from the Father. I know that since that time we have had a modern living prophet that recieves revelation for our time. I know where I came from, what I am expected to do on this earth, and where I am going after this life. I leave this with whoever reads this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to serve in many positions or callings in the church. One of the amazing things about the LDS church is that it is run by the members and no members recieve monetary gain for their efforts. I am currently the President over the young men from ages 12-17. I am responsible for making sure all of the duties of the young men are carried out and that they know what they are expected to do. Also, I have a group of adult couonselors and advisors that assist in mentoring and shaping the young men and I could not funtion without them. We help the young men learn life skills and help them put into action the activities that they want to do. I have truly come to enjoy serving others especially when it involves yard work, or helping with a family moving in or out of the congregation. I also have a hometeaching companion that monthly goes with me to visit 4-5 families in the congregation or (ward) to share a spiritual message and to let them know if they are in need of anything that they can call either of us at anytime for assistance. I also try to attend the Temple regularly to serve in the special work that is done there. I try on a daily basis to be a better person and a good example to my family and those around me and when I falter I am thankful I have a forgiving merciful God that I can ask for forgiveness and the strength to be better tomorrow. I enjoy trying to be a good person and hope that I can cease to make wrong choices
