Hi I'm Nicole

I'm a sister, friend, and musician. I love to travel and be with my family.

About Me

Hello! I am a currently a Sophomore at BYU-Idaho studying communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. I come from a family of 5, and they are hands down the best part of my life. My brother is autistic and that has definitely shaped my family and in many ways brought us closer together, and advocating for people with special needs has become one of my passions. I am a stress baker and therefore have also had to become a stress runner to keep up with that form of emotional expression. I love to create things and admire things others have created. Which in a spiritual way is tied to my love of travel in the sense that I love seeing different parts of this beautiful world that God created, and I feel like the more I see of it and the more time I spend in nature, the closer I grow to Him. I lived in Belgium for six years and began learning French there, and am continuing to study it today. My family lives in California now and it’s where I developed my deep love for all things avocado and also where I completely lost any tolerance I had for cold weather.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because when everything about life gets crazy, this church is always one of the few things that consistently keeps me happy. This is a church that emphasizes the importance of Family (Read a Proclamation to the Family,) and the importance of love, friendship, and service. This is a church that teaches that you are a child of God and that He loves and knows you personally and is active in your life. That we knew Him in our pre-mortal existence and that when we die we will return to our Father in Heaven and we will recognize Him and our surroundings and we will be home. I am a Mormon because the church has acted as my extended family in the sense that it doesn't matter where you go in the world, you can always find an LDS building and be accepted with open arms. I love my Heavenly Father and I know that I am His daughter and he loves me and wants me to be happy. I know that Jesus Christ is my saviour, brother, and friend and that he has personally felt all that I've been through and he understands when no one else does. I know that Jesus atoned for our sins because he loves us, and wants us to be able to return to Him. I love this gospel so much, and I love that my family can be together forever, and it gives me so much comfort knowing that God has a perfect plan for me. I am comforted to know that He hears my prayers and always answers in his own time. I am a Mormon because life is hard and the gospel makes it easier.

How I live my faith

My faith is evident in the details of my decisions in every day life. I live my faith in the way I talk and the things that I say. I represent Christ in the way I treat others and the way I present myself. I think my faith becomes especially important to me when life gets hard and I sometimes need to fall back on my faith and testimony and trust that He has a plan for me. I pray for strength and guidance in those times, that I will be able to do what He needs me to do with my life. My faith is strengthened when I spend time with my family, go to church, read my scriptures, go to the temple, and when I have opportunities to share my feelings towards the gospel with those around me.
