Hi I'm Lisha

I love Hurricane Utah, horses, soccer, and long drives. Small town, rural life is the life for me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children and have an amazing family that is always supportive of me. Some of our favorite things to do are to go for walks on Sunday afternoon, play at the lake, and make and fix things. I spent the majority of my life moving around a lot, but the last five years or so, I have enjoyed sunny Southern Utah. I am going to college in Utah right now and planning on graduating in Law and Constitutional Studies. I enjoy being a student and learning more about the world around me. I love to read when I have the chance. Funny to some, but I enjoy reading field guides and being able to identify plants and animals when I am in the wilderness. I also like to read the classics, Utopia being the current book of choice. I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC! I enjoy cooking for friends and family and feel especially successful when they actually like to eat what I cook. I also value physical exercise and can be seen running or biking around the neighborhood. One of my favorite things is to get some friends together, go up a canyon, and build a bonfire and sit around and just be. I love the banjo. Someday I would like to go to Ireland, Africa, or New Zealand and see the wildlife there. Someday :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been blessed with parents who have taught me how much my Heavenly Father loves me and all of His children. I am a Mormon because I have personally received the witness that the gospel taught in this church is the true key to happiness. I guess you could say that I have received multiple witnesses of the truthfulness of this gospel. It wasn't all in one big instance, but in small blessings and experiences that I have come to know the incredible love and awareness of my Father in Heaven. This lifestyle brings me more joy and freedom than anything else that I know of. Because I am aware that I am my Father's child, I know that I can do anything and everything with His help. I have continued throughout my life to strive to become like my older brother, Jesus Christ, because I know that He is the truest example of love and friendship there is. I know that what I feel by living this gospel is the purest form of joy. It's like walking down a green, shaded lane lined with budding trees, smelling the smells of the blossoms and hearing the soft droning of bees through the branches, just a beautiful feeling. And Heavenly Father and His Son have created those little things for my happiness, and I know that because of this church and gospel. I love this life!

How I live my faith

I currently work at a family-owned paint business in the town I am living in, and every day I am able to help people make decisions on how to make their houses homes. Sometimes it can be frustrating, but I try to keep in mind that the people I am helping are children of my Heavenly Father as well, and that makes things a whole lot different. I am also the activities co-chair for the young single adult ward, and I am looking forward to having activities that bring our ward closer together. I try to read the scriptures daily, and when I am rushed in the morning I will turn on a General Conference talk to at least hear a little bit of God's word as I get ready for the day. When I call home and talk to my siblings, I make sure that I take time to listen to what is going on in their lives, because I know Heavenly Father does the same for me. I also like to listen to music that is uplifting and that makes me happy, and some days especially the Christian Alternative station on the local radio.
