Hi I'm Ryan

I currently live with my family in Houston, Texas. I am Mormon.

About Me

I live with my wife and I have three young daughters. I work as a chemical engineer. For hobbies, I spend time running or playing basketball or listening or playing music. I like to go for walks around the neighborhood with my daughters. I was raised in Kansas, but I have been living in Texas for the last four years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned and that Jesus Christ is God's son who came to earth and suffered and died for the sins of mankind. I know that Joseph Smith was called as a prophet to restore Christ's church to the earth. Joseph Smith translated and brought forth the Book of Mormon, which I am happy to be able to read and study. I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only organization on the earth that has full authority from God to teach His doctrine and to perform religious ordinances. I believe that a person can only come completely to Christ through faith and repentance, and after being baptized in His church. I believe that such an organization is necessary to carry out the work of bringing people to Christ so that they can live with him forever after this life.

How I live my faith

I try to exercise faith by repenting of the things that I do wrong and trying to get better each day. My faith teaches that each person is individually accountable for choosing right and wrong throughout his life, which to me is a very empowering principle. When I do wrong, I know that I can be forgiven because of Jesus Christ. As a Mormon, I believe that faithful men in the church can receive God's authority to act in His name and to serve and bless the lives of those around them. This authority is called the Priesthood. Within my local congregation, I serve as a leader of a group of men who hold the priesthood and I help organize activities, service, and other efforts to strengthen our families and our community.
