Hi I'm Katie

I am proud to say I am a mormon. I grew up in Shelley, Idaho and certified to teach Secondary Health Education.

About Me

I am definitely proud to say I am a mormon. I have grown up in the church thanks to my wonderful parents and their example. They have always been great examples to me and shown me what it means to be a true follower Christ. I attended Weber State University and played on their collegiate women's golf team for a couple years. I had many wonderful memories and opportunities that strengthened my testimony of Jesus Christ. After two years I transfered to BYU and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Health Education. My last semester of student teaching, my high school sweet heart returned from serving a full time mission and serving a year in Iraq. Yes we definitely were married shortly after his return in the Idaho Falls Temple. While I taught Health Education at Springville Junior High and Pleasant Grove High School he attended BYU. We bought a little home in Utah and and patiently waited for my husband to finish his marketing degree. In three years he graduated and accepted a job working for General Mills. We are currently expecting a little boy in July and super excited about this next stage in our lives. I currently work as a nanny about 20 hours a week while my husband slaves away all day.:) I love being outside with our two puppies and love being active. Thank heavens I have had a healthy pregnancy that has allowed me to still continue to be active and exercise. I love spending time with my husband and family, that brings me the most joy!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know this is the only true church on the earth today. There have been too many times in my life that have testified to me the truthfulness of this gospel. It's the small and simple things that strengthen my testimony everyday. It's the still small whisperings of the spirit that leads, guides, protects, and instructs me everyday. It is the feeling a get when I say my prayers, read my scriptures, and serve others that testify to me the truthfulness of this gospel. This gospel just makes sense and gives me strength daily to overcome any challenges or disappointments in my life.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Relief Society teacher. I think it is the BEST calling ever. I have an opportunity to really study each lesson and draw closer to my Heavenly Father through much prayer. I must live a life that allows the spirit to help me prepare a lesson that fits the women in my ward. The spirit has to guide me in what I teach each week. My visiting teaching is something I look forward to. I love the sister I visit with and the women we visit. We could chat for hours about the simple pleasures of life and also the doctrines of the gospel. Thank heavens I have a wonderful husband as an example who is diligent in his home teaching. I truly believe home teaching and visiting teaching are essential to our Heavenly Fathers plan of sharing and ministering to those in need.
