Hi I'm Christine

I'm a Mother through adoption, a vocalist, advocate, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother, infertility and cancer survivor, adoption and disability advocate, vocalist, PhD student, and chocolate lover. I have been blessed to have 3 handsome boys through the miracle of adoption.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it's who I am. Being a Mormon gives me peace and hope in this journey of life. In my most difficult times, I know my Heavenly Father loves me and that the atonement is a gift to access each day. I know what my purpose in this life is and what I can hope for. I am so grateful that my family (who I fought so hard to have) can be together forever. That is the ultimate peace.

How I live my faith

I'm from Utah and grew up in the heart of the headquarters of the Church. I have wonderful parents who have service in their hearts daily. My great great grandparents were pioneers who crossed the the plains with the Hunt and Hodgett wagon trains. I also have grandparents who are modern pioneers who joined the church in pre and post-war Germany. From the time I was very little I remember Heavenly Father answering my prayers whether I needed to find a precious toy, do my best on a school test, or audition. I believed that if I lived my life making good choices I would be blessed. I met my college sweetheart in our University choir. I thought our life had the start of a fairy tale and we would live happily ever after. My greatest trial of faith was wondering why if I lived such a life of correct choices I couldn't have what I most desired. To have a child. I began to equate my worth with my ability to conceive. It took me a while to realize that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me. It wasn't what I expected but so so much better and beautiful! My parents taught me to love others. My mom was always taking meals to others or inviting friends old and new to share a meal in our home. My dad always answered the call to help others and serve in our church. My parents' examples of service helped me turn my despair into joy by helping others and advocating for adoption. As a result, I believe their counsel and example prepared me for my work as a disability counselor and my career as a mother. I deeply love our childrens' birth families. We enjoy an open adoption relationship with our birth families. I believe there shouldn't be a limit on who loves our children. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to be a mother. Music fills my soul. I immediately feel Heavenly Father's love for me when I sing a hymn or hear a choir. I love sharing my joy for music with the young children in our congregation, leading our ward choir, or singing a solo for our worship services.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?
