Hi I'm Jeff

I play the bassoon and love singing. I am the oldest of 4 children. I love to smile! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time employee and attend school full-time. I moved to Texas in 2009 and soon after met my wife. I have had the privilege of playing bassoon for the Southwest Symphony Orchestra, in St. George, Utah, for several seasons. I love watching sports and spending time with friends and family. I am a person who is generally very optimistic and nearly always am found with a smile. I love sharing that smile with everyone I meet.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many people I know, I was born into a family that had, many generations ago, joined the Church. As I grew up, learning right from wrong, I eventually came to a time where I had to begin making choices as to what I believed. I needed to know if what I had been taught during my childhood was true. As I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about its truthfulness, I was blessed with a peace and assurance that it was the word of God. The greatest part of my personal conversion, however, came when I was serving a mission in the city of Koshigaya, Japan. My companion and I had prepared a lesson to teach to a family who we had met several times before. Although we spent many hours preparing this lesson, after we knelt and prayed before the lesson began, I felt that the lesson was not the one the Lord wanted to give that evening. I began to express how much our Heavenly Father loves us. I said, "He knows each of us, personally. He loves us more than we can understand. He loves us so much He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to atone for our mistakes and to understand our pain. He loves us enough that he provided a way for the pain of sin and death to be erased." The Holy Spirit was so strong in the room that it felt as though our hearts were on fire. It testified of the truth of the words I had spoken, not only to the family being taught, but to mine as well. That experience has led me to other truths about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly Christ's church.

How I live my faith

I serve in the Church by helping the missionaries in our area, to find people to teach. I try to live my life as an example of someone who has taken upon them the name of Christ. I do my best to uplift and encourage people to live better, more wholesome lives. I try to see everyone as a child of God.
