Hi I'm Adam Millett

I'm a musician. I served a mission in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music and the Church make up my life! I have always been in the Choirs and Bands at school and love it! I am primarily a pianist but I also love to play percussion and sing as well ! As much as I love and breath music, I put it off to serve my God! I served in the Florida, Fort Lauderdale Mission speaking Spanish! I truly loved serving and sharing the wonderful news of the Restored Gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon not because I have to but because I want to! I love this church and the truth that I find within. I love that fact that the church is organized in the same way as when Christ was on the Earth. I love that we have a living Prophet on the Earth today. I know that he speaks to our Heavenly Father and receives revelation to help us. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He was foreordained to come down and restore his gospel to the earth. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. The book of Mormon and the Holy Bible go hand in hand to provide a complete testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that Christ lives and that he died for me and everyone else so that we can repent of our sins and wrongdoings and return to live with our Heavenly Father. The Holy Ghost has confirmed to me these things and let's me know that they are true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to continue forth in hard and difficult situations. While on my mission, I developed a serious infection called Clostridium Difficile which went untreated for many months. After much time spent meeting with doctors and and undergoing different tests, they decided to send me home from my mission to receive treatment for the infection. After being home for a period of time, I decided to return to missionary service. Upon arriving, my body once again succumbed to continued effects of the illness and I returned home again. This whole time proved to be quite difficult. As a missionary, you don't have the support of family and friends like you usually would. You can easily feel very alone. It was during this time that I had to learn to rely on my Savior Jesus Christ. There were times where I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I didn't know what was going this happen and what I was supposed to do. I started writing a blog betterpartofawesome.blogspot.com to help people understand what was happening. I learned that I had to keep going and trust that God was going to help me through it.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Adam Millett
We don't worship Joseph Smith. We worship our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. We revere Joseph Smith as a prophet of God and an instrument in his Hands. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Adam Millett
Jesus Christ invites everyone and anyone to come unto him. We also know that we must be baptized to receive salvation. Many of my ancestors did not have the opportunity to be baptized into the restored church before they passed away. Because of the proxy baptisms we perform in the temple, they have that opportunity to accept or decline the baptism that was performed in their behalf. Show more Show less

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Adam Millett
As an LDS Missionary, we fund our own missions. We have to work and save up enough money to support ourselves for 2 years. While it is a lot and a big sacrifice, it is so worth it because we get the opportunity to help others come unto Christ. That is one thing that is truly priceless! Show more Show less
