Hi I'm Brian Dixon

I've lived in eleven US States. I'm enjoyed a long marketing career in the restaurant industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah. After High School, I attended College and received a Bachelors and Masters Degree and began a business career. My career has taken my family (wife and eventually six kids) and I to 11 states, coast-to-coast, primarily in the restaurant industry. We've loved seeing this great country; loved the places and the people that make it great. As a restaurant marketing professional, I love being able to work in an industry that provides good food and dining experiences that help people enjoy life. The things that inspire my life are my Church and its beliefs, my family, great music, great books and seeing even more of this land.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've studied the scriptures, prayed about the doctrine and applied the teachings in my life. I've applied a spiritual test akin to the testing that takes place in a good restaurant--I've looked at it, I've "tasted it" and when I have taken it inside of me, it makes me feel good. I've studied the Gospel of Christ diligently and I see it expressed and lived by the leaders and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church has blessed my life and the lives of my family. I express deep gratitude to the Savior for the example He has provided, for the life He lived and for the precious truths that guide me thru His Church today. I feel lifted and challenged to live a more Christ-like life each day, because I know the Plan of Life. That makes me happy!

How I live my faith

I have had a range of opportunities to serve in the Church....as a congregational leader, as a youth secretary, as a Choir member and as a minister to homes. There are lots of opportunities to serve and I try to actively do my part. That means occasionally cleaning the church, weeding at a local 'welfare farm,' or praying in a meeting. Every opportunity brings a blessing. I feel good when I am helping (instead of just watching someone else.)

Are Mormons Christians?

Brian Dixon
The Name of the Church focuses on Christ. The doctrines of the Church focus on Christ...Faith in Christ being the first principal of Church beliefs. The music of the Church focuses on Christ. People are taught and invited to believe in Christ and to act so as to follow His commandments. Thus, that belief and actions match-up. Show more Show less
