Hi I'm Ruth

I'm a Mormon. I joined the church when I turned 18 back in 2005. I am the only member in my family.

About Me

I am currently a student working on becoming a High School math and science teacher. I have been married and am now divorced. My only children are my dog, cat, and hedgehog who I treat as babies.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to the church by my boyfriend in high school from there I became curious when my parents didn't approve and wanted to know why they thought it was so bad. I remember sitting in seminary every morning that year and thinking to myself 'this makes sense'. They could answer all the questions I had that weren't answered by my parents. When my mom and dad would say 'well you won't know that till you get to heaven' the missionaries would give me scripture as to what was going to happen or what had happened already. Not only did it make sense in my head I felt the truth of it in my heart. I've had a rough time since I joined the church (as I'm sure everyone does) but the only thing I've always held onto was that I KNOW the church is true and the Book of Mormon is true scripture and that we have a living prophet today. Even when I was down in the dumps this gave me the hope to push through and the knowledge that someday Heavenly Father will make everything okay.

How I live my faith

I have the most amazing calling in the church. I teach the class that we call Sunbeams (it is the 3 year old children). Right now I have 5 of the sweetest little boys and girls in my class and they teach me so much. I love being able to come in every Sunday and teach them something new about the Gospel. They always have such an energetic and positive outlook on life and sometimes I need to be reminded to look at things as a child does and not dwell on the negative.
