Hi I'm Adam Schafer

I'm from Utah. I love to read and draw. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm from a family of faithful Latter-Day Saints. I'm the oldest of four siblings. I enjoy drawing, reading, playing video games, and surfing the internet. I went to Weber State University, and hope to become a high-school art teacher. Currently, my days of schooling, gaming, and web-surfing are on-hold while I serve my Spanish-speaking mission in Chesapeake, Virginia

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born and raised in a faithful Latter-Day Saint home. My parents divorced when I was about ten years old, but they are still faithful members of this church. I became stronger in my faith as I attended seminary in high school, and felt the influence of good friends who were also members of this church. I'm grateful for the restored truths of eternal families and Christ's love that we learn as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Right now, I am serving a mission so that I might be able to share the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone that I can find.

How I live my faith

Currently, I'm serving as a full-time mission in North Carolina. I get up early every morning to study gospel principles so that I may teach them to the Spanish-speaking communities in the area in which I have been assigned to serve. Missionaries are assigned to different areas and to teach in different languages, but one thing that all missionaries have in common is that they all are called to invite all people to come unto Christ through Faith, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End. It is without a doubt the most rewarding calling a young man can have in this church.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Adam Schafer
The Mormon missionaries voluntarily pay for the opportunity to serve a mission using their own funds. At times it is a great expense to the missionaries and their families, but "Sacrafice brings forth the blessings of Heaven." Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Adam Schafer
We do not believe that "Mormonism" was founded by any man. We believe that Joseph Smith, the first president of this church, was called by the Lord Jesus Christ to be a prophet, seer, and revelator to guide this church on the earth. The Church of Jesus Christ was organized on April 6, 1830, under the leadership of Joseph Smith. However, we wholly believe that, though there are mortal men on the earth to guide the affairs of the church and to teach the people, the real founder and leader of this church is Jesus Christ himself. What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Adam Schafer
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we know without a doubt that it is only by the grace of God that we can be saved. However, we believe that the fullness of God's grace is only manifest to those that show their faith through repentance and good works. As the Apostle James taught, "Faith without works is dead."
