Hi I'm Brenda Lillie

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Washington State, graduated from BYU and now teach in a public school.

About Me

I am a mother of 2 fantastic teenage children. My biggest complaint in life is that I don't get to spend as much time with them as I would like. Everyday is so busy and life tends to get in the way. I teach in an alternative learning school. My favorite subjects to teach are science and robotics. I also teach beginning Spanish and math. I find the greatest satisfaction when students find their knowledge and everything just "clicks". It's the Aha moments that are worth teaching for. My hobbies are varied. I volunteer a lot. I watch a little too much TV (BBC America). I like anything Jane Austen, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Myth Busters, How It's Made and I am currently watching the MI-5 series.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that families are important and that all life has a purpose and that Christ has provided a way for all of us to be with him and our families forever. I believe in the Bible and it's teachings and grew up going to Bible Study classes in our neighborhood. I'm not sure what denomination the instructors were but I understood that they loved Christ and loved learning about his teachings. I also learned Book of Mormon stories and how much truth came from them. It is in putting all of these teachings together that I gained a better understanding of Heavenly Father's plan for us.

How I live my faith

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about being a member of the LDS church and about Heavenly Father's guidance. I go to church meetings regularly. I serve where I can when asked. I am a secretary for our women's group and am involved with keeping the information current about up coming events and help track past events and visiting with other women within the group.
