Hi I'm Robert

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live with my wife and our kids in Virginia, so I can work in Washington, D.C. I came here from Idaho for a three year assignment and will return when my stint is over. Our kids range in age from sixteen down to three, so there is always something happening.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who clearly believed the teachings of Jesus Christ and taught us to do the right thing, be it at home, school, work, or play. When the time came for me to serve a mission, I went ahead, because it was also the right thing to do. In the Missionary Training Center, the reality that I was about to spend two years teaching and testifying to something I had lived, but not yet truly gained a testimony of, caused me to truly pray and seek a personal knowledge of my Savior. I received a potent answer to my prayers that I would have to lie to deny -- Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Holy Bible testifies of His life and the love God has for us, the Book of Mormon also testifies of Him, and God has again called prophets to lead and guide us in His ways. That was almost 25 years ago. Life has had ups and downs, and triumphs and tragedies, but I have never fallen so low as to forget that I know that Jesus is the Christ, the son of the Living God, my Savior, my elder brother, and my friend.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily trying to do the right thing. At home that means loving my family while trying to teach them to be better. At work that means following our companies regulations and ensuring that my actions would be acceptable to God at the same time. At church it means serving as asked; right now I assist the missionaries as they invite people they have met to join us at church. In my personal life, it means admitting when I need to improve and working to be a better man, husband, father, and Child of God.
