Hi I'm Jud VanWinkle

I'm an Arizonian, BYU-I student, sports fan, I love my wife, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports; basketball, racquetball, football, volleyball, actually...all sports! I like to snowboard, longboard, and wakeboard too. I love music, especially singing with my whole family gathered around the piano. I am a student at BYU-Idaho studying Exercise Physiology in hopes to become a Physical Therapist one day. I got married a little over a year ago to my wonderful wife Makenzie in Snowflake Arizona. My family is probably the best family that you'll ever meet, I love spending time with them! I am really excited to be a dad one day, but for now I love being an uncle.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of goodly parents:) that's how i got into the church, but I have stayed in it because I have a testimony of its awesomeness! I was always active in the church, but not always active in the Gospel. I did the right things just because I knew that's what I should do and I felt happy when I did what I was taught, but didn't have that strong spiritual connection. I couldn't go through the motions anymore, I needed to know for myself that Heavenly Father was there and that He loved me. I didn't think I had a testimony for the longest time because I wouldn't cry or have this overwhelming feeling when everyone else was bawling and talking about how good they felt. So I started being more active in the gospel-reading the book of mormon every day, making sure I was saying my prayers really wanting answers, and participating in church more. I never had a bolt of lightning or a vision or anything, but i know that the church is true because of the happiness that I've seen it bring into my life as I've followed it. I am happier now than i've ever been and that's because I am living the gospel like i never have before. Things just work out when you do the right things. Life is still not easy, but it's a lot easier to enjoy when you're living the gospel! My testimony grows little by little and now I can say for sure that I know Jesus Christ is the Savior and the Book of Mormon is true. Sharing the gospel with others has really helped me gain a stronger testimony. Seeing people change their lives to follow Jesus Christ and the improvements in their lives has helped me to take a step back and realize that I do know that Heavenly Father is there. I know the Savior helps me to overcome my weaknesses and become better. I have now learned to recognize the Spirit more and I was feeling it all along, I don't have to cry to have a testimony! Come on Jud!

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to set an example of doing the right things and having fun while I'm at it. I love to be optimistic prime all the time, never negatron! Living the gospel is the only way to truly do that, so that's what I do.
