Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Programmer, I'm a Christian, I'm a Mormon, and I love it!

About Me

Back home my hobbies included Minecraft, Pokemon, fiction writing, and a little bit of hiking and camping. The rest of the time I programmed web-sites, or worked concrete for my uncle. I didn't really have good work ethic. My parents had to push me to do things, but I'm really glad they did. Serving a Full-time mission for the church has helped me too. Now I feel like I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 8 years old. My Dad joined the church when he was 15. He taught me about praying for answers. That's how he was converted to the Gospel. I followed his example.

How I live my faith

I am Christian. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I believe that being Christian is more than just what you say; it's what you do, and who you are. I made a covenant - a promise - when I was baptized. I promised that I would keep God's commandments. When we do what God says He blesses us. I believe that when he gives us a commandment it's like giving us a key to unlock a door. The commandment is the key, and the blessings are behind the door. Doing things like not smoking or drinking, or being morally clean make sense, but I believe there are more blessings for living God's commandments than just the obvious ones.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Michael
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived for us, and He died for us. He atoned for the sins of all the Earth; because of this God may judge us in mercy, and we may repent of our wrongs. In His life he showed us the perfect example of how we are to live. He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. If He, being perfect and sinless, had need to be baptized, then surely we have even greater need for baptism, we being full of sin; for all of us sin by nature. Baptism cleanses us from sin, and witnesses to God and man that we are willing to take upon ourselves the name of His son, Jesus Christ, and keep His commandments so that we may return to the presence of the Father. Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Michael
It's not the first time the Gospel needed to be restored. Noah restored the Gospel after the flood, Moses restored the Gospel after the Hebrews fled from Egypt, Jesus Christ, our Savior restored the Gospel during a very crucial time in history. Each time the Gospel is restored, people are given more knowledge about God's plan for everyone. I am so glad we have the Bible! I know it is true! We haven't always had it though. It is a gift. A lot of people went through a lot of trouble to make sure people had it. I wish people would take the time to read it more. It teaches us that God has always been involved in the History of the world. My favorite part of the Bible is the life of Jesus Christ. I am really glad we have the Book of Mormon, too! The Gospel is the same. It always has been. The Book of Mormon teaches us that Christianity existed before the time of Jesus Christ! It takes place between 600 BC and 400 AD. It teaches us that there were Pre-Columbian Christians in America that believed a Savior would come! The Prophets devoted their whole lives to writing and preserving these books. The least we could do is read them. Show more Show less
