Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, and grandfather. My wife and I have been married for over 33 years. We have 6 children, 5 daughters and one son. 5 of the six are married. We have 10 granchildren and another one on the way. My wife and I met our senior year of High School, but it was not until shortly after we graduated that we started dating. We dated for about 9 months before I left for my mission in Australia. Shortly after I returnd from my mission we were married in the Manti Temple. I finshed my schooling at Brigham Young University where I studied Political Science and attended ROTC. After graduation I entered the US Army and went to flight school where I learned to fly helicopters. I spent 22 years in the army and National Guard where I had the opportunity to fly Apache helcopters.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents that were already Mormons. However, I developed a personal testimony of the truthfulnees of the gospel of Jesus Christ while I was growing up. My testimony came from many times of feeling the spirit testify to me of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. At first I did not recognize that the spirit was testifying to me. But eventually I came to understand that the feelings of warmth and peace that came into my heart when I was reading, hearing or doing things related to the gospel were the spirit testifying to me that it was true. These feelings warmth and peace have continued throughout my life reenforcing the testimony I have. They have brought a peace and security into my life. I can say that I know that My Heavenly Father lives. That His Son Jesus Christ came to the earth and died for all of us, paying the price for our sins. That in a very personal way He payed for my sins and made it possible for me to return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. That we have a living prophet on this earth today who leads and guides us. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, I can live with my wife and family for ever.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am very active in the lives of my family. We look forward to the times we can be together. Fortunately we are able to get together as a complete family about every other year to spend Christmas together. We cherish these times when we can be together to share our feelings and grow closer together. I try to be friend to those I meet. Life can be hard at times and we all need a smile, a kind word, or a pat on the back from time to time. I try to be positive about things going on around me. I try to be a friend. I think that one of the most important things we can have in our lives is have hope. If we have hope we can press on and move forward. I try to share that hope with those I come in contact with.
