Hi I'm Nate Koller

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of 3 (with one more on the way). I love to explore the outdoors and play the guitar. I work at a local hospital and am involved in helping to enhance the patient experience and quality of care for people that are going through some of the most difficult experiences of their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents introduced me to this faith when I was a child. Although I was raised a Mormon, I had to find out for myself that this is the true church. As a child as I learned from the examples and teachings of loving parents and other great teachers, church leaders, and family members who made a lasting impression on me. From a very young age I remember having a sense of doubt that all of the things that I was taught were true. I knew that I couldn't rely on my upbringing and that I'd have to find out for myself whether those teachings were true. My journey of faith took a dramatic turn when I was 13 years old. I found out on afternoon that my cousin, whom I was very close to, had died in a car accident. I was devastated by the news and suddenly my faith was being put to the test. That night, in tears and agony over the loss of one of my best friends, I didn't know what to do until I remembered that I'd been taught that if I needed help with anything, that I could pray. Kneeling, I offered the most sincere and heartfelt prayer that had ever crossed my lips. What happened next will forever influence my life. A loving Heavenly Father gave comfort and began to heal me. I was given a sense of peace and acceptance of my loss that did not come from within. I felt peace with what I had been taught about the doctrine that families can be forever through sacred ordinances that are performed in the Lord's Temples. I knew without a doubt that my cousin was in a good place and that I'd see him again some day. Most of all from this experience (and other experiences since) I've learned that God loves me and hears my prayers!

How I live my faith

I'll never be able to pay back my Heavenly Father for the abundance of blessings that he has given me but I do my best to show Him my gratitude by using the strength that He has given me to in-turn bless the lives of others. I give highest priority to being a good husband and father by providing for and protecting my family both spiritually and physically. I firmly believe that the most important work in this world happens within the walls of our homes. A good portion of my free time is volunteered to helping and ministering to friends and fellow church members. I'm currently serving as the leader of a men's group within my congregation. I work to ensure that the physical and spiritual need's of my brothers and their families are being met through: teaching lessons, supporting monthly home visits called home teaching, one on one visits with the men, service projects, and lots of fun! I truly enjoy the opportunity to serve in the church and have grown tremendously through those priceless interactions with my brothers and sisters!
