Hi I'm Kaylee

I grew up in Utah. I am currently a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 13 children. My mother is remarried and with the kids both my mom and step dad brought into the marriage, we were lucky to welcome many new members into our family. I am currently a college student, however, I have just taken a leave of absence at the school for this semester and am living in China right now teaching English under a volunteer program. I love children so much and especially love my children here. I also look forward to going back to school. I love reading and learning so much and am excited to get back to my education, but also am enjoying this incredible volunteer opportunity so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents and I were sealed in the temple when I was just a baby and my mother and father raised me in the gospel. I had always looked to my parents as examples and teachers of how to live the gospel and they were both excellent teachers for me. I knew that they had a testimony of the gospel and I leaned on their testimonies while mine was still weak. When I was 16, my father turned away from the church, leading into my parents' divorce. This was the first time that my testimony of Jesus Christ's gospel was truly tested. It was through this trial, along with others that followed, that I gained a strong testimony of this gospel. Through prayer and reliance on my Savior, Jesus Christ, during this time of my life, I came to realize that the only way to find happiness in this life and eternal joy in the life to come is by always relying on Him. How grateful I am for that trial in my life that allowed Christ to teach me of the truthfulness of this gospel and of His mercy and love. I continue everyday to do my best to live His gospel because I know it is true. I know it is the reason we are here and that this gospel is a gift to each of us, if we will accept it, to bring us back into the arms of our loving Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Living in China right now, I am a member of a virtual branch. We skype in for church every Sunday and that has been a wonderful experience for me. I have the calling of visiting teaching two of the sisters that I am here in China with. My visiting teaching partner and I try to fulfill this calling by meeting with them and sharing gospel messages and by showing them the love that we have for them. Being a part of this branch here has helped to strengthen me in living the standards of this gospel and in following the example of Jesus Christ every day. Although we cannot tell others about our church here in China, I strive every day to teach through example by remembering my Savior in all I do and in following His example of loving and caring for His children. Through that, I have come to love the people here and learn more of Christ every day by striving to become more like Him.
