Hi I'm Michael.

I serve as a judge. I'm flawed and trust Jesus' promise of forgiveness. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I commute to work via my kayak on a beautiful river. I'm involved in civic clubs and community activities to help relieve suffering and to improve the quality of life the in my community in which my wife and children live. I have worked and lived in Peru, Taiwan, and Israel. Equality, fairness, and justice are vitally important to me. I enjoy people!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because its doctrine focuses my mind and heart on Jesus Christ and daily infuses me with hope, power, and strength to help others. I trust in God's promise of peace in this life and eternal life in the next. Throughout history God has used prophets to share specific and timely instruction and guidance to His children. Today I am blessed to know and receive teachings from a modern prophet of God. I know God lives and that He sent His beloved Son, Jesus Christ to earth to live, to die, and to live again for me and all humanity. I feel Christ's power and goodness in nature. Just as the earth is renewed in spring, so too am I made new through His atoning sacrifice.

How I live my faith

I regularly visit my friend who lives in an assisted living center. She is a great lady and has been so good and kind to me and my family. Occasionally she will need help running an errand. I'm thrilled to help. Before work each day, I prayer for God's wisdom, understanding, and a clear sense of fairness as I hear the positions of litigants in my courtroom. We all have problems. I like to think of my work as a judge as helping to minimize the pain, hurt, and problems that people are experiencing and to help restore a sense of justice.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I believe in Jesus Christ. He loves perfectly. I want to be more like Him. I love my wife. My wife believes in Jesus Christ. She wants to be more like Him. She loves me. Our mutual love for each other and belief in Jesus, coupled with our desire to live and love like Him, translates into action. We work to better ourselves and our family. I trust my wife and she trusts me because of our common belief in Christ. Our children have greater trust in us because they know we are bounded by eternal teachings and principles.
