Hi I'm Kenneth Dudley Reber

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Mesquite, Nevada. Reside now in Sandy, Utah. I married Janet Dahl and we have eight children.

About Me

I am seventy one years old. Presently I am serving my fourth mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. It is the third mission for my spouse and me together. Seven and a half years of our service has been in Germany and Austria. Our marriage has been blessed with eight children consisting of six daughters and two sons. We have 18 grandchildren presently. Our children are college graduates. Seven served missions for the church. All served in European countries. I received an Associate of Arts degree from Dixie College, a bachelor of arts degree in German from Brigham Young University, and Master of Arts Degree in German from Arizona State University. My professional career has two parts: HIgh School teacher for seven years where I taught German, mathematics and coached basketball and baseball, In addition, I taught early morning LDS seminary for six years. During that time we lived in Anaheim, California. I changed careers and joined the life insurance business in Utah where we have lived since 1972. Music and sports have played an important part of my life. Singing, piano and guitar are still enjoyed very much. Being with family and grandkids are a high priority in my life. My wife and I will have served seven years together as missionaries for the church when we complete our time here in South Africa. I have interspersed my church service with 10 years of service on the planning commission of my city. Our service has made us better people.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a strong, Mormon family. I was taught the principles of the Gospel from the beginning. As I grew, I obtained my own conviction and testimony of its truthfulness. The Book of Mormon provided me with the tender promptings of the Holy Spirit of its truthfulness. My parents guided me toward a fulltime mission as a young man which gave me strong direction for the rest of my life. My choice to marry a strong member of the church has been a great strenth to help me continue on that course. Our children and grandchildren are evidences of the love of God for families. I love my wife and our children. I am convinced that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is the restored church of Jesus Christ which He personally started during His ministry on the earth. It is evidenced by the organization of His church with Apostles and Prophets. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. The presence of the Holy Ghost with the Gifts thereof can testify to each of us and to all the world of its validity. All of this testifies of the Love Heavenly Father for His children. I know that He loves us and wants our return to Him.

How I live my faith

When at home, I am active in grass roots politics and serve often as delegates to the nominating conventions. We host the events at our home many times. Presently, my work is to prepare 25 to 30 missionaries for fulltime service by teaching them how to present their message. At home I am a home teacher and have been since I was fourteen years old. Another brother and I visit a few families at least monthly which is very rewarding. We provide assistance if needed. I also try to visit neighbors and friends regularly as well.
