Hi I'm Jamie Willcox

I can often be found outside and going on adventures. I love music, laughter, people and raising my eyebrows. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Jame, James, Jammers, and Jimmay are a few of my nick-names but my favorite will always be Sister Willcox. I was born in Oregon, Raised in Arizona, lived in Utah to attend Brigham Young University but will currently be living in Korea as I serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I come from a blended family of eleven and fall smack dab in the middle of children. I love my quirky family and am so grateful for all the experiences and moments we have been able to go through together. I have the world's greatest friends, and love adding new ones daily. There is so much strength, joy and love when you surround yourself with good, uplifting people. I love being outdoors and will hardly ever be found watching television. I love everything from hiking, playing sports, to star-gazing and camping. I love taking pictures, reading books, being creative, cooking and having deep talks with anyone and everyone. But most importantly, I am a member and strong believer in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have not seen God with my own two eyes, I have received his grace in my life, felt His love in my heart, and seen His hand in the miracles all around me. I am a Mormon because I believe. I believe that this life isn't the end. That my family can live together for eternity. That we are never alone. That we can be happy. The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me all of these and more. Its promises have healed me physically, emotionally, mentally and most importantly, spiritually. God is our loving, heavenly father. He wants nothing more than for us to be eternally happy and to have rich, fulfilling lives. He knows how to live most happily. And, out of his love for his children, he has taught us how to be happy. This is called the gospel of Jesus Christ and it is specifically designed to bring happiness to those who follow the principles contained therein. So many people today are not happy because they don't know how to be happy and don't know know the source of happiness. I have personally found that the secret to happiness is living in obedience to God's teachings. Although I am far from perfect, I know that as I strive to follow the teaching found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I am happy.

How I live my faith

I don't live my faith through grandiose and dramatic once in a lifetime actions, rather, I live my faith through the small and simple principles found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are not expected to be perfect, but I want nothing more than to be perfected in Christ. Praying to a loving Heavenly Father, not only for my own needs, but the needs and desires of those I love and am surrounded by. Feasting upon the words of Christ, which always leads and guides me on the path of happiness. I live my faith by seeking out the small acts of kindness and service Heavenly Father places in my path. Through Church and Temple attendance. Through the fulfillment of my church callings. And currently, through fulfilling my favorite calling, serving as a missionary in the Seoul, Korea mission.
