Hi I'm Michael

I'm an Idaho farm boy. I love being me. My favorite pass time is making good memories. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Michael. I'm 21 years old. I'm from Idaho but I'm currently living in Illinois for a few years. I love playing sports, particularly Baseball, but I love swimming. I like to think of myself as a funny person, but it takes someone with a similar sense of humor to understand that I'm not just being weird. My best jokes come after the funny situation is past. But I really do love writing humor, because then I can think about my jokes. Back when I was in Idaho my biggest hobbies were being outdoors, I really enjoy hiking into the backcountry of the Rocky Mountains. But it isn't nearly as enjoyable if you have to do it alone, so that leads to my other big hobby; being with those I love. My biggest sense of happiness comes from my family and close friends. I love spending time with my brothers and dad outdoors, and it really is a tradition I plan on experiencing with my own children someday. I really love hanging out with my friends, going long boarding, watching movies, doing bonfires and hot dog roasts. I like cars, particularly manual ones, automatics are no fun to drive, the most fun in driving comes from getting to manually shift gears, you won't understand until you've driven one. Once I head back to Idaho I plan on dating the woman of my dreams, marrying her, settling down and having a family someday. I also plan on going to college, I want to enter the medical field, either in Cardiology or Anesthesiology. But most of all, I can't wait to be a dad.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My parents are great parents and my family members are all good members as well, but for a long time in my youth the Church was just something I did becuase its what my parents wanted me to do. I went to church and stuff, but it didn't really mean anything to me because I hadn't made the effort in my own life to see how it could benefit me. Deep down I didn't have any real desire to make it an active part in my life. I was working in a stable job, I didn't have any real desire to try and be converted to the Gospel, I was raised in the Church but I wasn't really converted to it. Some of my really close friends started encouraging me to find out for myself, so I decided that I would try. So the next day I was hiking, and I decided that being out in God's creations was as good a place as any to pray, so that is what I did, and I came to know for myself that God does answer prayers, and that this really is His Church. I was raised Mormon, but in the end it was always my choice as to whether I would be as well, and ultimately that is what I chose, I chose to be Mormon. The entire belief system of any Christian religion is that we have the ability to choose for ourself. I exercised that ability to choose, agency, and I chose to find out for myself, and I did, I chose to be devoted to this religion, and I know that I made the right choice.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. Christ Himself was the greatest example of service. He loved everyone perfectly, regardless of what they did or had done. I believe that expressing a Christlike love for everyone and serving everywhere you can is the greatest expression of our faith that we can show. I live my faith by loving and serving people where and when I can.

What is the Law of Chastity?

The Law of Chastity is God's undeviating standard of sexual conduct for us, His children. It includes complete sexual abstinence before marriage and total fidelity within. God has also commanded us to avoid pornography in all its forms, because it always leads to larger and more heinous sins. Jesus said "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery already in his heart." (Matt 5:27-28) This includes keeping our thoughts clean and pure and uplifting, as well as avoiding pornography and self abuse. God also has stated that marriage is only between a man and a woman, homosexual relationships of any kind are against God's laws. The sacred privilege of sexual relationships and the power to create life is to only be used within the bonds of marriage. We all think taking a life is wrong and is not a power to be held by any one man, why should we view the power to create life as anything less sacred and serious? I live the Law of Chastity because I know that by so doing, I avoid the weight of shame and embarrassment that may come from the consequences of violating it. I control when I become a parent, and I avoid the terrible diseases that may result from sexual misconduct. The Law of Chastity will never be outdated, regardless of what modern society thinks is normal, and God will always bless those who keep His commandments. Show more Show less
