Hi I'm Zach

Alabama is my sweet home. My heart is in Texas. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in northern Alabama with three younger siblings. Sports were my first love, and the outdoors my second. I enjoy fishing, camping, and hiking whenever possible. I enjoy good cooking especially any sort of BBQ. I did a year of college, but I am currently serving a mission in the Texas McAllen area. I love life and the opportunity to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

There have been many instances throughout my life that have influenced me to stay faithful to Christ's church. Growing up I have really had to dig down within myself to know if this church was true. It is not always easy trying to live something many others regard as either "old-fashioned" or "too strict". Over years of study, prayers, experiences, and confirmations of the Spirit-- I know that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. His sacrifice was and is the most important event of all history. We can show our appreciation and love for Jesus Christ by being faithful to the commandments that He has given us.

How I live my faith

As a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I enjoy living my faith by having the opportunity to share my beliefs with others everyday. I find great JOY in helping others realize that they can be free from the pain, sorrow, guilt, afflictions, and troubles this life often has. The truth is that even with this knowledge we sometimes feel inadequate. But going to Church, Praying, and Reading the scriptures as often as we can helps to comfort, strengthen, and build our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Those three things are so essential. Simply put it's C.P.R and it just could save your spiritual life. Try it out, it has worked for me.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Zach
Baptism is a step that we take to follow the example of Jesus Christ. John the Baptist, who had the permission from God to do so, baptized Jesus Christ. Christ was placed completely under the water and brought back up as a physical demonstration of His obedience to the Father. Through baptism we can be cleansed from our old life and start a new one. We promise to keep the commandments and help our fellow-men. This is made possible by the sacrifice of Christ for our sins. It is a beautiful way to show our appreciation and devotion to Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
