Hi I'm Gary Haymore

I love to make people laugh! I love my family & I'm a Mormon!

About Me

One thing that I love to do is have fun. I have always loved motorcycles and gettin dirty in the mud. My Dad, my Brother and I would take motorcycle rides on nice twisty mountain roads together. I love racing activities! I will sometimes go to the 1/4 mile Dirt Race Tracks and have a super fun time watching them race around the corner at high speeds! I also love to play sports like Basketball with friends and family. I am not very good at it...but I make the best fun out of it that I can! My family is amazing and we do a lot of things together as a family...especially on the weekends! I am originally from Sacramento, CA...I am currently serving as a Full-Time Missionary in the Utah Ogden Mission!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon for the first time in my life! I had many people tell me to read it during my life and it came down to my personal decision to read it. One night I was sitting on my computer and got the idea that I should just start reading it. I hate reading books becasue my eyes get bloodshot and it looks like I am on drugs! But this time it caught my attention and I felt so peaceful as I read that I knew it was true. God wouldn't put warm loving feelings to my heart for fun but to teach me what is true. As I read more I felt more of God love for me! He helped me through trials and gave me strength to do what He wanted me to do. I know that Christ is the Son of God becasue of the teachings in the Book of Mormon, as it is another testiment of Jesus Christ. I still love reading the Book of Mormon and also the Bible because I always learn something new from them. Jesus Christ gives me a reason to live! I know that He loves me because I can be forgiven of the wrong things I have done. I can follow Him the best I can and He will guide me to do what is right!

How I live my faith

I can live my faith by Serving others!! That is what Christ did. When I was baptized I made a promise with Him that I would always remember Christ and keep His commandments! I have felt a greater Spirit in the act of service. Helping others in everything that I can, whether it be saying hello to someone, smiling and being happy, or physical service to others. There are many ways that I strive to follow Chist and delevope the same attrubutes that He has. He is the biggest example in my life so I try to be an example to others in all that I do.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Gary Haymore
When we are baptized we make a promise with God to keep the Commandments and to take upon ourselves the name of Christ. This does not mean that we call ourselves Christ but that we will act as He would. Baptism will bring a washing away of sins and gives us a new start in life. We bury our old life in the water and come out of the water with a new life or being born again. We also believe that baptism is a two step process. First we are baptized with water for remission of sins and we are then given the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Baptism is not complete without this second step. Both parts must be done by the proper priesthood(permission to act in Gods name). As we are baptized we are literally following the footsteps of Jesus Christ as even He was baptized to show obedience to Gods commandments. Baptism opens the door or gate to enter into the Kingdom of God so we can live with Him again. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Gary Haymore
We are to have Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only through Him and His name in which we can be saved. We must do more than just have Faith in Him but act on our Faith daily to bring peace in our lives! Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Gary Haymore
In order to have a relationship with anyone we need to talk to them. We talk to our friends almost daily about our personal problems and successes. Our Father in Heaven wants to hear the cries of our heart. We do this by praying to Him often. He loves us more than anyone can comprehend. He can help us in our daily situations and feel closer to Him as we pray. Talk to Him with a full heart, with sincerety, and earnesty...He will answer. Show more Show less

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Gary Haymore
Our families are a gift from God to keep us strong. They are the ones that we can always turn to. If we understand that we are part of an earthly family, we must also understand that we are part of a bigger family. God is our Father in Heaven and He wants all of us to return to live with Him again. So He has given us our families to be together here in preparation for our "family" to be together with Him.
