Hi I'm Caulin.

I'm from New York. I'm a Martial Artist. 한국말 할 수 있고 I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love Martial Arts. I practice a South Korean martial art called Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan. In addition to being a student of that style, I also teach it. I grew up doing it after school thanks to my Mom. And as I grew up, I just began to love it. It helped me be confident, and it helped me come out of my shell. I love teaching it and helping people, young and not so young, learn to have balance in their life. I love music. I dabble here and there with different instruments. Guitar. Drums. Bass Guitar. Percussion. Harmonica. And so forth. I love playing music for myself and for other people. During my Freshman year at University, I was in a band with a couple other buddies. When I play music, I am happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church and grew up attending our services every week. My Dad was a Church leader all my life and my Mom was and is a spiritual giant. And so I always had their example to lean on. But when I finally moved out and was living on my own, it came time to choose for myself. Is this Church true? Or is it not for me? Finally I decided to act on all of the things I had been taught as a child. And I did them for me. Not for my Mom. Not for my Dad. But for me. And as I began to live the principles of the Gospel - faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end - I found, inside my heart, a desire and a seed of faith to work with and to help grow. As I continue to live and move on, that seed does indeed grow. Mind you, life is no picnic, but with my foundation of faith in Christ, I have been able to encounter challenges, embrace them, and keep going.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from serving as a missionary for the Church in Toronto, Canada. Each day I met a lot of people who came to Toronto for various reasons: to learn, to find a better life, to see something new. My purpose right now, like it was when I was a missionary, is to share the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of this Gospel, I have been blessed in so many different ways and I just want to give this gift to others. I know that the blessings I have received aren't exclusive. So here I am, doing my best to help others feel God's love and grow closer to Christ. I also strive to live close to the Spirit. I had a teacher who recently said that the secret to life was to have the Spirit with us. I thought of that and determined it is true. If we have the Spirit with us, we can have confidence that the Lord is watching over us, and is leading our path.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Caulin.
Prayer and scripture study. We can truly come to know our Heavenly Father by praying to Him and asking Him to confirm to us the truth we are learning. If you want to speak with God, pray. If you want God to speak with you, read the scriptures. My testimony of Heavenly Father and the Book of Mormon hasn't always been strong. I had to gain a witness of the truth for myself. When I finally prayed to God sincerely and asked Him if Joseph Smith was His prophet and if the Book of Mormon was true, I received a spiritual confirmation that it was. After that, I had to consistently strengthen my testimony. And that came through simply praying and asking God a question, and reading the Book of Mormon and having faith enough to act. And by acting, God sends the Holy Spirit to confirm not only our actions but also to answer our questions. This process wasn't and isn't a one time thing, it is a lifetime pursuit. God is our loving Heavenly Father. Because of this, He answers our prayers and as we receive confirmation after confirmation we come to know for sure that He is there. Show more Show less
