Hi I'm Sherece

I grew up in England. I love to sing and play my guitar. I love to smile and laugh. And yes...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family of nine. I am the second oldest of seven children. I have two brothers and four sisters. I have a passion for music. I like to play the piano and my guitar, and I love to play sports, especially soccer. I am studying to be an Elementary school teacher. I am a returned missionary of the Canada Montreal Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into this religion, there came a point in my life when I could no longer live off the testimonies of my parents and friends. I remember a time in my youth when I was really confused about the Gospel. One night, I found myself praying to God and asking Him what I should do. I came to realize that the only way I was going to gain a testimony of the Gospel was to read the Book of Mormon. So I did. Cover to cover. While I was reading it, I gained multiple witnesses by the Holy Spirit that the book is true. After gaining a testimony of the Book of Mormon, I knew that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, who, by the power of God, translated the Book of Mormon from Ancient Egyptian to English. I also chose to be a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only religion in the world that is set up exactly the way Christ established his Church when he was on earth. When Jesus Christ was crucified, and His Apostles died, those precious priesthood keys (the power to act in God’s name) were lost. The Church that Christ established on the earth, that fullness of the gospel in its purest form, became corrupted by man. A lot of Christ’s teachings were distorted and twisted by man. Parts of Bible were changed. Parts were added and taken out. It lead to a lot of confusion because people interpreted the Bible differently. We needed that restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullest form. That was done through Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to those around me. I love to help people in whatever way I possibly can because it brings me so much joy. In my Church, I have had many opportunities to serve others through callings. I had the opportunity to be a nursery leader, where I would look after children aged 18 months to 3 years old. I was a music director for the children of my church, where I taught them songs and prepared them for performances. I also had the privilege to teach the women aged 18+ in my Church. Before leaving on my mission, I was a gospel principles teacher, where I had the oppertunity to teach individuals who were investigating the Church and recent converts of the Church. At the moment, I live my faith by serving a mission, where I get to share the joyful and happy message of the Gospel to the people in Canada.
