Hi I'm Andrea Heupel

I grew up in California, I have 4 sisters. I'm at college studying to be an elementary school teacher. i love life, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Andrea. I am 22 years old. I am the 3rd of 5 girls, making me the one and only middle child. I am currently a senior in college, and i am studying to be an elementary school teacher. However I have taken 18 months off for a mission to Italy, yes i speak italian. Currently i am working at Chickfila to save money to go back to school. I love to curl up under a blanket with a good book and just read. I love music too. I can play a little of piano, probably not enough to count. Singing is also something that i love to do. Be it a favorite song on the radio, a song from a movie, guaranteed there is something stuck in my head, or something that i just made up, i can almost always be found singing or humming along. I love the rain, the smell, the feel, the sound. I love it all. i am a big people person. I love having people around me, which makes me somewhat of a talker too. But, all things said I am a happy person, i love to laugh and i love to smile. I love life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is not why I'm a Mormon. I am a Member of His church because I know that this is the true church. All growing up I relied heavily on my parents' belief that this was the true gospel, and i was OK with just knowing that. I was under the impression that if is good enough for them it was good enough for me and didn't think twice about it. It wasn't until my 8th grade year in Junior High that i began to think differently. At this time I had a wide range a friends with different religious backgrounds. At lunch we would talk and we would ask questions about each others faiths trying to make sense of their beliefs and to also clear up misconceptions. I could answer all of the questions that were asked, but a seed of doubt was planted in my mind, i never received any confirmations that what i belived was true. It bothered me. I wanted to know. So i set off on a journey looking for something to tell me that it was true. I cant tell you how many prayers i said. It was a couple weeks later that i received my answer. It wasn't something grand It was 4 words. Four words that filled my mind, that were as clear as night from day. "You have always known." It wasn't until that that i realized that i might have started off relying on my parents for truth, but as i continued to read my scriptures, and say my prayers that i had learned the truth of the gospel in a very subtle way, step by step. I know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

Everyday i try to live my life in a way that would make my Heavenly Father proud of me, and pleased with me. I am not perfect but i try my hardest to live the commandments that have been given to me through the scriptures and also through the voices of the prophets both dead and living. I try to be as Paul said "Be thou and example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." In every aspect of my life i try to be the best person that i can be. I try to be an example of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is not easy, but it is worth it.
