Hi I'm BJ

I'm from Utah, I love the Mountains, the outdoors, playing soccer, I'm Mormon and most importantly I love serving my God

About Me

I've been born of faithful parents who love Jesus Christ, its thanks to them and their faithful example in serving Him and others that I've seen the blessing the gospel brings to families. These and many more examples in my life helped my decision in serving a full time mission in the Baltimore, MD mission Spanish speaking. Where I was able to help others see how the gospel can be an integrate part of our everyday lives. My hobbies are playing soccer and building things, before my mission I was really into building model airplanes and things like that, also I like to cook, I believe my biggest passion is learning new things to do in life. I've had the privilege of going on a study abroad to Peru for a couple of weeks, learning about the culture of the wonderful people there and tasting of their delicious foods. I was also to see the beautiful city of Macchu Picchu and its surrounding beauties.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon or a Latter-day Saint, because it's Christ true church that has been restored to the earth. As mentioned above I was born into the church and my parents taught me the principles of the gospel and showed me what it was like to live a Christlike life. But even with their great example they aren't the reason that I continue to live my faith. For most of my teenage life I went to church and participated in everything because it was expected of me. When I was 15 yrs. I realized my life wasn't in harmony with the gospel and I was miserable, after spending days weeks and some sleepless nights praying for help in how I could change my situation, my teacher for seminary, religious classes in high school about the scriptures, invited all of us to read a passage in the scriptures then to ask God through prayer if it was true. That night I did precisely that after reading the scriptures I boweed on my knees and ask my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was the word of God. He answered me that yes it is true and everything that my parents and leaders have taught me is true. I felt something that I hadn't felt in a while, a "burning in my bosom" as the scriptures put it. It was a filling of peace and joy in my heart, an awesome feeling that I could not deny. That filled a void in my heart. Many years have passed by since that moment and through those years life has been difficult. I known its been that because that God answered my prayer like he will yours, that I'm where I am now. Our Heavenly Father loves us and our families. He hasn't abandon us and will always answer our prayers in His perfect timing. He is always there for us and looking out for us. We just need to watch for his hand.

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith by being a good example for others to follow even though I myself am imperfect and make mistakes. I know that it doesn't matter what we have done in our lives we can always be forgiven of any mistake that we have made and become whole through the atonement of Christ. That is why I served a mission in Baltimore, Md because I've learned that the only way that we can become free from the feelings of guilt and shame that we all feel from incorrect decision is by coming unto Christ. During my mission I've come to learn more about how much our Heavenly Father really loves us. He wants us to be happy, to have joy in this life. That is only possible through His commandments that He reveals through His servants the prophets. I think that the greatest inspiration to mankind is to know that we are literally sons and daughters of God. Sons and daughters of a Loving Heavenly Father! that wants us to follow his guidance so that we, with our families, can return to live with Him.
