Hi I'm Carly Helton

I love to Run, Peanut Butter M&M's are a Necessity, I'm a Missionary at Temple Square, I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm 20. I'm the only girl right in the middle of 2 brothers. My family is my favorite. My favorite food currently is whole wheat pita bread from Costco with avocados and freshly ground pepper. I love being active and busy. I get stressed when things don't go according to my plans. I love talking to new people. I wish everyone would tell me their life story. Washington will forever be my home.

Why I am a Mormon

My testimony has evolved over a long time. Day by day, minute by minute I have been given opportunities to choose who I want to be and decide what I actually believe. Some days I have been stronger than others but the reason I am still a Mormon today is because of Jesus Christ. I have never felt closer to Jesus Christ than when I study from the Book of Mormon. The knowledge that additional testament of Jesus Christ has given me about Christ's atonement has changed my life forever. It is because of the Book of Mormon that I know Joseph Smith is a prophet called of God. I have never felt closer to God than in those quiet moments of prayer and pondering verses of scripture. I believe in the power of prayer and I truly believe that God wants to answer each one of our prayers. He wants us to know how to follow him. He wants us to know him. He wants everyone to know how infinitely he loves them. I love my family and I am eternally grateful that I can be with them forever through Jesus Christ and his gospel and priesthood power.

How I live my faith

I'm serving a mission for 18 months in Salt Lake City at Temple Square. Something that I love about the gospel of Jesus Christ is that it's all about becoming. Contrary to modern institutions today which teach us to know something, the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to become something. Each and everyday we either become better through Christ and commit to more fully follow his example or we choose not to. Everyday is a choice and I'm grateful for new beginnings each and everyday to be better and change through Christ.
