Hi I'm Rachel

I am an artsy and creative human and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church, but that doesn't mean that I'm not a convert in my own right. Ultimately I made the decision to get baptized for myself. I got baptized at eight like normal LDS raised children, however like many converts to the church, even at such a young age, I prayed, asking if this was the right church for me. I wanted to make sure that i wasn't getting baptized just because it was expected of me, but that I did it, because I believed that this gospel was true. I found that I did believe it and no matter what, this was where I belonged. This is the true church. Other than that, I am just an average girl. I graduated high school and I had to bust my butt to do so. I enjoy art! I love to draw and sing and write and act and all that jazz. Music is definitely a necessity in my life. Other than singing I play the piano and violin. I am very into the geeky things in life. Nothing more needs to be said about that. Okay, I'll just say that cartoons aren't just for children! Plans for the future? Actress, Artist, Singer, Novelist... yeah, I never have one game plan.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I have always been a Mormon. People have asked me why before, and I haven't really been able to give any good answers. I don't really know what to tell people. I have atheist friends and friends of other religions and have no matter what any of them have tried to tell me about their religions, I have never doubted mine. When I read the Book of Mormon, I get a warm feeling. I feel like I'm reading the truth. I know in my heart that it's true. Without the gospel I don't know where I would be right now. I am so thankful for the 'rules' that come with being a member. I don't think they're too strict. I mean, really they are not that hard. Follow the ten commandments and the words of wisdom. Simple. Just be a decent human being, contribute to society, your family and the church and love one another. Well I just want to say that I really love this gospel and believe it with all of my heart, mind and soul.

How I live my faith

I regularly attend my YSA ward, including FHE and other ward and stake activities. I pray daily. When my friends (or whoever) asks me questions, I do my best to answer. I keep myself modest which can be a hard thing to do being a young lady who likes to shop for cute clothes. I do my best not to judge others and love everyone and treat everyone with respect, even if we have conflicting opinions. I'm always learning new things, even if we cover the same scripture story over and over again. I don't mind learning the same things repeatedly, because as I age, my look on life changes. I guess I just try to stay good and positive, despite the trials that I've gone through in my life.
